What a difference a Bamba makes

He was outstanding, lead the defence and kept us tight at the back.

You can easily see how we could have conceded if we wasn’t playing.

Let’s hope he stays fit and his presence has the desired affect on his fellow defenders.

Only then will I begin to feel confident in our ability to defend.

I love how he just bullied their forwards especially when he was shepherding then ball out for a goal kick his immense stature was just imposing wasn’t it.

He proves you don't need to run around like a headless chicken at his age if you can stand still and read the game. Kept it very simple and you could see how his team mates appreciated him.

He was awesome, but really struggling the last 15 minutes, he gave everything & a bit more

Impeccable! Perfectly time tackles, sublime body positioning. Deal Fry looked great on that left hand side too, something which I never thought I’d say. Long may it continue!

Surely time for the La Bamba song to make a return? We can’t have La Bamba for Aitor Karanka and then not for actual BAMBA!

What a fantastic performance after his time out. If he can stay fit, things are looking up. It would be great to see a developing partnership with the hugely talented Dael Fry.

I was against him playing last night and felt it was Warnock giving a job for the boys.

How wrong I was proved and long may it continue. Bamba was a true leader on the field and organised the defence well.
I was reading about the effect Ronaldo had on Man Utd when he came back, his professional attitude, the way he eats, the way he trains etc

With Sol Bamba putting in a shift like that last night, excuses are out of the window. You think you’re puffing and panting or have a slight niggle.. I’d be absolutely ashamed not to leave everything on the pitch with Sol Bamba on my team with everything he’s been through. Wow!

Cracking post Newy (y)

Bamba was quite rightly man of the match. I think this was Warnock picking his game for him (good management) - up against Sharp who is not known for his pace. I think if we are against a quick centre forward them Bamba probably won't play (at least not as part of a 4 man defence)
