What a sorry, sorry state our club is in

Wilder gone - and on results can have little to complain about- or is it that simple? Recruitment leaving us bare upfront - muniz being the notable exception. A midfield that despite letting go Tav and Payero( yes there is a player there) was not replenished with a midfielder able to create. Left with little more than ponderous plodders.

Frankly, Gibbo, Scott and Bausor should have a long hard look in the mirror. Their actions - or rather lack of actions, resemble a team collectively responsible for what is little better than the shambles.

And then the supposed favourites for the manager’s position. Are they determined to take us on a downward direction?

Exceptionally poor time for the club - even by our standards. Get a frigging grip, act professionally and really examine your mind - are you really doing the best for our club?

Bare up front? We’ve got 5 first team strikers at the club… including two full internationals who dropped down divisions to come here who have hardly had a kick

Thing I’ll disagree with is recruitment leaving us with minimum upfront.

On the books we have Forss, Hoppe, akpom, muniz and watmore. You could probably include Coburn too.

It’s wilder not playing them or putting them in the squad

Feels a bit rough at the minute. No feel-good factor whatsoever, yet there was at the start of the season. I came away from Morecambe thinking Giles and McGree were going to take the **** this year and we'd be solid at the back too with Fry and Lenihan, Bola, Crooks etc it looked good.

Wilder came in and we all thought he would be around for a few years, and he did really well at Sheff Utd, so we thought he'd emulate that here. We were inches away last year (I felt we were a keeper and 2 strikers away) but we sold Tav which left a huge gaping hole - the size of which nobody could envisage. We've brought in a few quid, spent a few but not as much as we all thought. Some head scratching signings in Hoppe/Forss who aren't getting game time, but we just haven't clicked and i think CWs tactical naivety is a huge reason why. He sticks to the same system home or away, if we're playing Rotherham at home or Man City away, he'd play the same team the same way which is frightening.

The names being banded around now are extremely underwhelming, but i was really excited when Wilder came and that turned out to be a huge let down so I'm just hoping the club take a bit longer this time there's no mad rush, take a week or two, interview a few candidates and explain the job in full. The candidate must know exactly the remit of the job and the financial power they'll have in January and also must know how much the board will have a say in transfers, because no good promising Edwards or GON 10m in January but spending it on players they don't want.

With or without Wilder we still have strikers who cant score and mdfielders who are too slow. We do have defenders who can defend so more as likely we will revert to playing defensively, concede possession higher up and not send our CBs up the field as we were doing. It wont be pretty to watch.

If the strikes aren’t being played how do we know they can’t score?

Easy to complain now but we were in good shape last season until Wilder had his head turned by Burnley, form then fell off a cliff, we should have got into the playoffs, perhaps players like Tav might have stuck around if he felt the manager was committed? We can't comment on the new strikers as they've not even been used with wilder insisting on ignoring them.

I personally blame Wilder for this current mess, if he didn't want to be here he should have left in the summer, the guy obviously has a big ego and blames everything on everyone else, dropping Giles and Jones felt like trying to get sacked, wouldn't be surprised if he joined Bournemouth, he's no team player.

No reason the results can't pick up, it's a long season, look a Forest 12 months ago. The squad is good enough for top half, Wilder lost the dressing room and probably alienated half the squad.

A similar state to around another 18 or so Championship clubs.
Nailed it, we are ultimately just one of 22 championship clubs playing for a place in the playoffs this season.

Wilder was hounded for his "expectations" remark but he's right. This is our 6th consecutive season in the Championship and despite having a nice training ground and big stadium there's little else to differentiate us from those other clubs.

Parachute payments have distorted the league so that we can basically kiss goodbye to automatic unless we see significant outside investment. The margins for finishing top 6 are razor thin at best.

I would actually be more excited if the club accepted this situation publicly whilst communicating a strategy for how we increase those margins in our favour over time (hello Brentford!)

Funny that Wilder was being linked to Burnley and Bournemouth, whilst not even doing a very good job here. I could understand the links if we were flying, but we haven't been.

We are probably a couple of midfielders away from having a decent team. We are not short upfront the manager wouldn't play 2 of the new signings and one was completely excluded from pre season. The other loaned out.

The biggest negativity around the place was the managers stale tactics and constant complaining about his own players. We should take his departure as a positive. 2 wins and we are back in the mix.
