What the British Public has noticed re consequences of Brexit

It's unlike the boards hierarchy to name call fellow posters,
I’ve lost patience. People like you bumble on, with “oh but I don’t need turkey, or a job in fishing, or fuel”
No matter what the next Brexit disaster is people like you will either deflect or laugh at it. I can’t even comprehend what level of stupidity it takes to ignore all the things that are going wrong. So yes, it does seem beyond idiotic to me for anyone to still defend Brexit. I know you’re embarrassed and you’d rather we ignored it but anyone who wants to drive a car, eat food, or heat their home can no longer ignore it. I can’t think of any word, other than idiotic, for someone who looks at all of those problems and stills supports the process that caused them. Maybe someone can help me come up with a synonym that makes you feel less embarrassed?

Smalltown - You are being nasty again with your comments, now stop it.

@SmallTown I get that you're passionate about Brexit, I am too. I get that you're frustrated with some people burying their head in the sand and refusing to acknowledge the mess it has caused, I get frustrated too. You and I are on the same side on the subject but if there's one thing that's likely to entrench views further its being called ridiculous childish names. It won't change anyone's mind and will if anything simply make their position even firmer.

Trying to belittle and humiliate isn't the way to help heal the mess Brexit has created and you really need to understand that. It's affecting your mental health judging by the postings on here.

I don't say this to cause trouble with you or any sort of argument, as I say we are in the same side.

Please try to take a few days away from here or at the very least don't throw insults it doesn't help anyone.

Yeah I get that and you're a bigger man than me. But I'm angry that my country is so badly damaged in so many ways. There are people on here who celebrate the process that has damaged my country. My patience has ran out so I express myself accordingly. If I could be more sanguine about it I would, but I love the UK so I just can't bring myself to show any respect to those who willfully want to destroy it.

I don't want to live in a country where we can't afford to heat our homes, have limited food on the shelves and struggle to fuel our cars. It's beyond comprehension to me that people are so happy to

People didn’t really have to pay that much attention to what was happening to realise the way things were going. Despite the spin, and lies of the UK government.
Just totally out of their depth. “ The UK were not negotiating with the EU, but with their backbench and the slim majority”

I think the operative phrase in this article being “3500 adults”.
That's some spin going on in that headline.
40% of shoppers are finding shortages of foods they need, and the other 60% "said everything they needed was available to buy", so not necessarily that they hadn't noticed shortages in other things.

Wonder what would happen if the vote was this week now that your average halfwit has to queue to fill he car up?
And more importantly now that the Brexiteers lies have all been exposed.

It's not just food & fuel shortages

My mate is a builder and he says he will have to give up and do odd jobs instead or something, because he just can't get the supplies he needs.

I think, as we van see on this message board, some brexitists simply don't care they were lied to

I follow what you are saying Festa5.

Personally, I would be been content for the UK to be a Norway. Norweigans seem to be happy to out of the EU but in the Single Market. As said my prime concern was change was needed for the sake ultimately of the declining UK regions.

Norway have two main sectors of their economy - oil and fishing.

Being in EFTA makes a lot more sense for them because they are in the Single Market but outside the CFP, so their fishing industry is protected.

Protection is something every nation does and it can be a good thing, morally and economically. Free Trade seems to have this aura about it that this is what every country should aim for and protectionism is always bad. Try telling that to developing countries who have been unable to get their own domestic industries off the ground because of foreign companies.

That might have been your prime concern but alas it wasn't the concern of those who engineered this mess. Brexit was all about their influence, power and wealth and they don't give a stuff about anything or anyone else. Be of no doubt they are traitors to this country and more importantly to the ordinary working people of this country.

Only 61%?

That's shameful in itself.
I just think stuff is being massively over exaggerated by those with an agenda - you could say well done to the supermarkets for still providing pretty much everything we need during the pandemic, driver shortage…. It just depends which way you want to view the world.

I'm afraid the operative expression is 'Gazette'. They've interpreted widespread evidence of emerging shortages as 'Move along, nothing to see here'. What next ?- ' Most covid victims still alive!'.

This is very true and just about nails the reasons why we are where we are.
