What to buy the wife for Christmas?

I think she would kill me if I booked a cruise but if I booked her a cruise to the Antarctic, I know she would kill me.
Such a cruise would be extremely expensive. Fly to Argentina and sail through Drakes passage, it makes the Bay of Biscay seem like a boating lake, she’d seriously love it if you went in the right season, penguins, whales, seals, albatross’s galore. You’d not get all them at a seallife centre.

If I bought my wife a kitchen appliance I would be dead meat...
Ha, reminds me of my mum, a staunch feminist who refused to accept any gift which smelt of housework. Even in her 70s, long since widowed and living alone, when I bought her a steamer one Xmas - reasoning that, as her evening meal was invariably something like salmon, spuds and veg, it would be convenient to have one item which cooked the lot - she ordered me to return it. It was a red line I never dared cross again.

Ridiculously expensive handcream or face cream is always a huge hit in our house. Basically the stuff she wouldn’t pay for if it was her money.

House of Fraser is the place for that. (Clarins).

A book. Some posh chocolate. A fancy fruit vodka. Nordic (or similar) socks. A small rubber band ejaculating pistol (to dispense TV channel frustration around the room). A scarf or gloves. And some perfume.

Oh and some retro sweets from AQuarterOf. I always do that too…

That would be Christmas sorted.

I got my wife thermal gloves and some gingerbread syrup for coffee. It's all I could think off.

Someone said expensive cream. I have often bought my wife expensive shampoo and conditioner, the stuff that doesn't come with the weekly tesco shop.

Maybe something you can do together as part of a hobby or project. So I think she would really appreciate a new top of the range Woodworking Lathe and tool set so she can learn wood turning with you and make some things together. The bonus is if she doesn't like it at least it won't be wasted 😏.

The stuff I buy Mrs Hap is Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment. It’s about £25.

Mrs Hap once bought me a long electric extension, which I took to mean “by all means carry on with whatever it is you’re doing, but could you do it at a distance?” 🤣

To be honest I’m really hard to buy for. I don’t want anything really. Maybe a book.

Best move has been booking Christmas Day dinner out these past few years. Saved so much pressure in the build up and on the day.

Nowt.

I'm at work nearly every Christmas day so we just don't bother, then we buy whatever we want for ourselves in the New Year instead when money is less tight.

The focus is on the kids, as it should be.
My wife and I stopped buying each other a few years ago and it's crept back in but generally cheaper.

Spent 25 quid this year but she needed gloves and lines a ginger bread latte

Bought mine a top of the range watering can from Arcadia in light green to match the colour she had me paint the greenhouse over the allotment a few years ago,she wasn't impressed though she normally likes a surprise for Xmas.

Yep, a tad pricey. This one is 22k each, excluding flights.

I once bought my ex-girlfriend a screwdriver set for valentine's day. She was not very impressed and actually started crying. Women do not like practical gifts. Try to think of something that is of no use to anyone and buy that.
