When will the working classes

I worked at an Investment Bank in the City of London for a good while. Everyone worked hard, about 5% of the people there were working class

I'm sure they all had very flash cars and exotic holidays (y)

The concept of the middle class professional AKA the Bourgeoisie has existed for 300 years!

Ah, in that case I take it all back. A 300 year old concept couldn't possibly be a manipulative con.

I know lots of Tories (including my Mam and Dad) and not one of them love foodbanks or would love to bring back the workhouse. Do you really think this?
Anyone who votes tory is contributing to people relying on things like food banks to survive, most are comfortable to ignore it or they just simply don’t care.

What is so difficult to understand about the concept of being middle class? "Working =Working Class" is so dumb and demonstrably false that to cling to it means you must have some serious issues about your own origin

Around 60% of UK population are middle class. In UK surveys of class origin more people categorise themselves as middle class than any other category

Of course class is an abstract concept subject to subjective judgement. Most things are. But the statement that if you work you are working class is a convenient generalisation that happens to be false. All of my mangers in my working life have been highly educated professionals. Because they were all middle class...

I get that if you have lived in the same square mile of Teesside your whole life doing a manual job you think everyone is like that. You are wrong in most regards

Never having lived in a republic, but some posters on here have. Are there upper, lower, working, middle classes in those countries
