Where do we go from here?

Start with a new keeper and work your way through.Build the team around Dijksteel Fry Hall McNair Bola Tav Morsy Watmore.Howson Fisher and Saville as squad players not 1st team.Wont lose any sleep if any of the others leave.Need 2 new wingers 2 strikers 2 midfield players. As for Spence and Akpom I'll drive them anywhere.

Anywhere above 18th, the style is so bad its terrible to watch. That’s the main thing tbh, I’m not bothered about being in the Premier League in the next few years but would like to see vibrant, attacking football where we build year on year.

Warnockball is simply atrocious.
It was ok until January. Football never looks good when you’re losing. Results haven’t been great this calendar year at all but I just don’t see how anyone can expect us to come “anywhere above 18th” and play really good stuff? The teams that play “really good stuff” tend to finish top 6 and usually top 2.

I know where the fans are coming from. Its gone badly wrong since January. Warnock this will be last job in football.

"is it down to the lake I fear"
That couplet has always troubled me. Why was he so scared of lakes? The obvious theory that springs to mind is that maybe he couldn't swim but it's pretty easy to keep a safe distance from a lake if that were the case. But the 'we' in the first line suggests that he was going to the lake with his lass and maybe it was her that he was afraid of rather than just the lake itself. Maybe she knew that he couldn't swim and he was scared that she'd push him in and then laugh manically as he was thrashing about and drowning. But if he was genuinely concerned that his girlfriend might want to kill him then why was he even with her in the first place? It just never made any sense to me. I hope that he's OK. Maybe he has learned to swim now and finally dumped that evil, sadistic cow.

We finished 7th under Pulis with s as n absolute embarrassment of riches at his disposal. From relegation candidates to a comfortable mid table finish is good going in with one season.

being honest about it.. we haven’t scored enough goals, we haven’t scored enough goals!!

if we have a decent goal scorer we would have been top six this season. that’s the long and short of it.

where do we go from here? get the youngsters in form the e rest of the season and make sure we bring the right players this summer.
Spot on me old flower!

I`de sooner we look absolute crap and mid-table in this league than hoping for a play - off spot in Division 3 like Portsmouth and Sunderland, or in mid-table like Ipswich Town.

I`de sooner we had hope for the future starting in Division 2 than Bolton in Division 4 and Bradford City - celebrating beating bottom club Grimsby Town 1-0.

If anything - today just stripped bare what we have to do to move onwards and upwards. We`ve known for too long how poor we are as a team and I have kidded myself we could find some inspiration to get into the play-offs.

I dont believe its fair to "blame" Neil Warnock for the fact that Assombalonga is below average, or Saville is inconsistent, or Spence cant cut it, or .....and its obvious that Tavernier / Morsy / Anfernee and Dael would all be in the team if they were all fit.

Look forward and lets have a good go next season. (y)

Warnock is not getting a tune from this squad ,
Is it because he has told them they will go ?
Or is it because too many are leaving and are on the beach ?
He is leaving in a year , why wait ? Stay long enough to help a new younger manager settle in , and the new man can pick his own players .
Players may not sign for Warnock , knowing he is leaving next season .
We are blundering from one calamity to another .
Put a plan in place now , new man , new players .
Do we trust Warnock to get it right ?
Huge doubts arising .
So, we avoided relegation, strengthened the squad for a comfortable mid table finish.. and now rather than building on what we’ve done and just taking it that little bit further.. we’re gonna throw it all in the bin and start from scratch with new younger manger.

and give HIM time to settle in.. a whole YEAR!!

not for me i’m afraid. Get the Warnock battle bus ship shape and in top condition and let’s have a go at promotion.

Hmm, you'd think we had just been relegated rather than lost a game. We won't make the playoffs, but everyone's been saying that for weeks, so why the vitriol, I wonder.

We are better than last year, by some distance, flirted with the playoffs. Last year some of you moaning minnies would have killed for that, when you get it, you want more.

Is Neil Warnock the man for the job? I have no idea, but give the fella some time. As football supporters we are not entitled to a thing, and reading some of the posts, you would think that we absoloutely are.

Let's see what the next 2, 3, 4 or even 5 years brings. Let's start to build something. Our fall from grace started when we began chopping and changing managers. Karanka had 171 games in charge, twice as much as any manager since and more than any until you go back to. Steve Mclaren, at 250, before that Robson 314. Is this a coincidence? Of course it's not. We were succesful when we gave managers the time and space to make mistakes.
Every manager between Karanka and Warnock, if you add their total games together is....... 159. Thats 3 permanent managers and 2 caretakerrs. Between them they have not been given the chance that Karanka was given.

Shortermism kills any plan, any vision and any real chance of success built on longevity.

The answer is of course:
”Aye aye aye aye aye argh,
aye aye aye aye aye aye aye argh”

I’d happily never see the following players in a Boro shirt again.

Bettinelli
Fletcher
Assombalonga
Akpom
Morsy
Johnson
Spence
Mendez Laing
Saville
Bolasie

I have my reservations about Fisher (who seems to be the 2020 equivalent of Fleming), Watmore as he has gone completely off the boil, and Bola who seems to have a massive mistake in his locker every game.

All of the above are not committed/very poor and the majority have a heart the size of a pea. That’s 10 players plus the other 3 that need replacing, so maybe time to bite the bullet and accept that a long term rebuild is required which may result in a few years in the bottom half.

Fry, Tavernier, McNair, Dijksteel, Howson, Coulson, Hall are about all I’d keep. Massive, massive rebuilding required over the summer to start with and for a couple of years to come.

We are too short term, I’ve mentioned before how we’ve lurched from strategy to strategy for nearly 15 years with the only time we got it right being under Aitor - which we then threw away completely with a short term, haphazard recruitment plan that misfired badly tto has had repercussions for years.

Warnock is another example of this short term thinking. Next season will be worse than this, and then we are another year down with even more money wasted, Get shot now - he’s had his day.

I agree with the sentiment not the list of players. Part of giving a manager the time, is allowing them to mould a team. You give them time and stay out of player selection.

Give them the freedom to make mistakes and build season by season.

Where did you expect/predict we'd finish this season?
Before Warnock took over I expected another struggle (Expected is not a strong enough word. I thought it was a racing certainty). Woody was clueless and if he hadn't gone when he did I am certain we would have been relegated.
I am grateful that the points are in the bag and no matter how poorly we play now, we will not get relegated. The bonus is not having to look over our shoulders. The rebuilding should be starting NOW.

Agree.....but he’s 72, will be 73 this year and realistically this is a ”try and get promoted via the play-offs“ roll of the dice. Form has been atrocious for months, style is getting worse and players are regressing. We can’t afford to waste another year on this turgid style of football knowing full well he’s going in 13 months time.

It absolutely smacks of the Pulis period where technical attributes became worse game on game, players actively regressed and tactically we became so predictable any team could easily outwit us.

I can say with absolute certainty his style of “football” is the worst I’ve had the misfortune to witness - I’ve watched teams in the 9th tier and below play better football.

We simply need to bite the bullet, get rid now and put in place a strategy we stick to to rather than randomly throwing **** at a wall and hoping it sticks. Tactics are dire, football is dire, his time is done - no sentiment in football, thanks for keeping us up last year and stabilising us (to a certain extent) now enjoy your retirement in Italy and see you later.
