I didn't realise, but apparently Braithwaite is crazy wealthy outside of football with a property empire - if money isn't a motivator for him he must have really not fancied it here!

I thought that too. I didnt have a problem with him to be honest, I thought he had real quality and could have been a key player for us. Under Monk he looked like the player we thought we'd bought and then Pulis kind of cocked things up.

Agreed, he was (is) obviously a good player, far above our level. I think he just didn't fancy it when Pulis came in, but he could have been a major player for us and been a big part of a promotion team

I think the truth is that Pulis earmarked him as one to move on, given he had to reduce spending and increase income.

That was in part because if his big contract and transfer value and part due to being a player that didnt really fit with the Pulis mantra.

It's no wonder the club has appointed a head of football, to stop that type of chopping and changing.
 
They'll probably be forced into a fire sale very soon after their creditors revealed they're £1.15bn in debt-- crazy how this club was allowed to go on for so long without being called into check.
