Who wants Man City to win the CL Saturday?

I love pep hes a sensational manager but i despise all gulf state involment in football especially when in the case of city they have cooked the books. So i want inter to win
I don't think any football fan can defend what the money men are doing to the game but on the flip side of that coin, I like watching City play and would always want an English team to win in Europe.

Come on City.

I wanted City to beat Real, not bothered about if they beat Inter. Might watch, probably won't unless I end up with nothing else to do.

Exactly the same, i like Pep, and some of the players, but I want them to get beat due to the reasons you mention

For the sporting spectacle I want city to win, for me they're an absolute sensation to watch.

You won't see their players rolling around on the floor clutching their face after every tackle - but I bet Inter will.

I just hope Robbie Savage isn't commentating as that really will spoil the occasion 'Man City are massive' lol

I don't see how city's finances are any different to the other teams that have won in the past. Utd and Liverpool haven't dominated without spending more money than anyone else. I don't care about the FFP rules.
You don’t see how their finances are any different because you choose not to see the difference.

Man City have over 100 charges for FFP breaches.

As far as I’m aware Man Utd and Liverpool haven’t set-up shadow firms overseas to hide the true cost of the wages.

Man Utd and Liverpool aren’t backed by an oil nation. Liverpool’s net spend is much smaller than Man City’s.

Irrespective of who owns the clubs I could never root for an Italian league club over an English league club. Just doesn’t feel right for me I’m afraid

I know. I don't agree with FFP.

Utd and Liverpool don't need to play tricks with accounting to breach FFP because FFP was designed for clubs like Utd and Liverpool. They used to spend as much as they could because they had more than everyone else. They implemented FFP so teams like City (and now Newcastle) aka "new money" can't just leapfrog above them by spending more. Newcastle's owners have £300bn. Why shouldn't they be allowed to spend it? If it was about fair play then they'd be allowed to spend the same as other teams but they are artificially limited because their revenue over recent years isn't as high as other teams.

I hate the money in football. It's ruined competition but the way to fix it is to have a fixed spending cap for all teams and not one relative to revenue which massively benefits a certain group of teams.

Net spend is a meaningless statistic because transfer fees are not the only cost of running a club. City actually have a lower net spend than Liverpool over the last 5 years. They made a profit this season. They have massive wage costs though. Man Utd and Liverpool might not be owned by oil nations but they are owned by billionaires. All of these clubs are billionaire's play things. There is no difference between them. I don't see why you would think a billionaire that is rich because of oil is better or worse than a billionaire because of media, property, investments etc.

To be brutally honest, I'm not ars*d about the game and who wins. Doesn't affect Boro, so end of the day pretty irrelevant.

Reading a lot of fans of other teams absolutely fawning over City, what an amazing team, brilliant club......

But being state owned, assembling a squad for a billion quid and threatening to dominate English football to a level which will exceed Man U / Arsenal / Chelsea's great periods.......that's not a good thing.

And the potential 115 charges they face......

Acceptable face of the Premier League and their brand......but is it good for football?

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
I’m with you, couldn’t really care less, normally I want a British team to win but with a state owned team I don’t have that same mentality it’s just abit meh.

There’s a lot to like about the actual team. All time great manager, brilliant football and English players involved.

The whole super club feels hollow to me though. A mediocre club transformed by billions of petrodollars, just to make some oil rich tiny state look good. Plus there must be something in all their creative accounting.

It feels a bit like Saracens to me. The club cheated but the team and players were outstanding for a period of 5 years. I said then it was wrong to strip any titles and they were won on the pitch regardless. The club was correctly relegated though.

All city victories feel hollow to me as everyone is based on petro dollar obscene wealth and the side is just full of mercenary players there to hoover it up

Yes city won again it must feel like that to city fans as well deep down

I have quite a few Geordie mates and all do not care one bit about their owners. One bloke is a hard core Socialist too, but doesn’t like to think about it!

Going by Liam Gallagher’s Twitter output he doesn’t care about their new found wealth and success either.

That's what I call being 'comfortably numb'
