Why we won’t make the play offs & why it’s not a disaster.

The current Boro team is a competent, compact and functional Chimpship team. We are hard to beat, strong home form and improved so much in 12 months.

However the current squad are never going to score enough or ask enough questions of the opposition. For example today, we are crying out for a focal point up front. A traditional CF, back to goal, hold up play, bringing others in, and an out ball. Warnock knows this, and he will address it. Just like he will bring in at least one player that can carry the ball. Beat a man, get us 30 yards up the pitch without having to switch play.

these players aren’t coming in this window I don’t think. But if Warnock stays for next season then these players will be starting next year in front of a fan filled Riverside.

Iis looking unlikely he'll bring in who he wants which could end up in us just missing out then I think this season is to be classed as a project with players finding their true potential & the youngsters stepping up, hopefully, he stays next season & as you say, he brings in the players he wants, then we should be among the front runners next season....... If he stays, which I think he will

I still think we will make the play offs, it’s a funny time just now with bad weather and the Covid outbreaks, but even today after no preparation at all just a bit of luck and Morsy’s header would have gone in and changed the game. I was devastated we lost today and I think that shows how far Warnock has brought the team, I almost expect us to win every match now.

I certainly hope Neil stays on for next season at least, but I think it's optimistic it will be in front of a 'fan-filled' Riverside for the start of next season. I think it's going to take some time before the place will be open as normal again .. same with signings. It's going to be hard to get the right players he wants in, especially with a lack of funds. Hope I'm wrong and we find some way to make some great signings come the Summer window ... but it's gonna be tough going.

A few fans will probably be allowed back in select areas appropriately distanced, but it will be that way until we start seeing the results of the vaccination rollout bring numbers down significantly enough .. by the sounds of it they're messing it up already in some areas with certain folk having their 2nd jab canceled or delayed .. if it's not that then it's anti-vaxxers dishing out as much nonsense as they can online or where ever they can daily, which is doing us no good at all in getting us back to normality.

I do wonder when most of the country will have received it but it's going to take time. This c#nt of a virus is here to mess things up for some time yet. (hate to sound so negative but I just think it's likely looking at things as they stand)

We need to get up this year if possible. As NW said at the start of the season there are no star teams. OK Norwich are getting away at the moment but there is a long way to go. At least we aren’t drawing games. We are a young, unpredictable team but if we could add a special player this month and get more consistency then who knows where we could finish. We can only improve with this squad.

It’s not unthinkable that Ash Fletcher comes back and makes a significant difference to the team. Significant enough to get us into the play offs.

He and / or a deadline day signing could be the missing piece of the jigsaw.

That football won't fill any stadium. We need additional players in to freshen things up otherwise we are in danger of missing out on a play off place. We are probably not good enough to win the play offs but we will never have a chance like this year. The league is wide open for the play off places at least. Its ok saying next year but next year we could be back to were we were last year. Fine lines in football. Promotion chances are not like buses as they very rarely come two at a time.

You’d think Watmore and Tavernier will love feeding off the scraps if Fletcher can be coached to bring it down and play them in or flick it on in the channels.

Fletcher coming back is defo a bonus and will be great when he can start games, hopefully, make a difference. I'm not getting too optimistic though expecting him to hit the ground running on his return, winning us games. Results are still gonna be tough to come by but we have defo missed him and it will almost be like a new signing. I hope he does well and gives us a nudge up in quality where we're lacking.

Hopefully, with Fletch due back, we can get a couple of additional loans in too. I've already said I think it's going to be hard to get anyone else in .. Bolasie is one that has split opinion among fans but I'd take him at moment, I trust Warnock's judgement on anyone who ends up signing if we manage it. I'm wondering where Roberts is going to end up, can't see him hanging around much longer .. been a rubbish season for him so far and when he returned in the Summer everyone had such high hopes for the lad. It's not worked out and isn't going to, surely he will be off.

I disagree with some saying if we go up it has to be this year.. I think we can carry on improving under Warnock and next season could be a better one. I really don't think this team has enough to end up finishing top six and winning the play-offs hahaha .. we could strengthen and maybe make a few more signings in next couple of weeks, but I don't think we're going to manage more than one or two .. and who knows what outgoings there still could be.

I've enjoyed watching us a lot this season but the Birmingham game just seemed to show a knackered team, the enthusiasm we have been used to seeing throughout the campaign wasn't there. I really hope it's just down to the recent Covid problems and changes at the training ground and things return to normality sooner than later. I did expect though at around this time, it would start to test the players more as some would be worn out by this point with us being low on numbers. We need a bigger squad, going up this season through play-offs after almost dropping out the league last season with the same bunch of players would be absolutely crackers!!

I hope yesterday was just a blip and we can get a run of wins again but it didn't look too encouraging to me. Quite worried about the next few games.

Already made a promise to my mate that if promotion did happen through play-offs, I'll get Warnock's face tattooed on my ar5e cheek 😂 😂 😂

Well said 👍

Which side?
Already been asked that a few times. In the unlikely event, we do win the play-offs. I'll put it up to a vote on here, or something. Then get the photo up to prove I've done it .. if bare arses are allowed with Neil's face on with the date and everything on. Will have to ask Rob about that one.

We start be too disappointed with this latest defeat because of all the upheaval the team has had to endure and manage which effects performance
Let’s hope they settle into a routine that works without too much disruption

No need, honestly, we'll take your word for it! 😲

To me, we’ve only 3-4 players good enough to play regularly in the Premier. That’s frightening.
NW has fashioned a team that is 'greater than the sum of its parts' from the players at his disposal. I think that approach can only get you so far in the Premier which is possibly why he's never enjoyed any success there with the teams he's got promoted. I suspect Chris Wilder is suffering similar issues with Sheff Utd.

We are no way good enough , money is tight ,even before covid ! Its a slow rebuild under difficult circumstances .Warnock has done a great job , and we all hope he stays. If and when we do go up we want to make a decent fist of it. The Premiership is brutal and who wants a repeat of last time . Gibson needs to know who his next manager is ( or has a good idea ) he cant have anymore Wee Gordon's or Monks just to name two.!

Would be nice to be in and around the play offs for most of this season. I won't be too disappointed if we don't make them, it's just good to see us making progress and developing a young team. Hopefully we wont lose too many in the summer, both centre backs are capable of stepping up as is Tav and maybe Dijksteel.
