Woodgate obviously loves football and loves the Boro. This is a great job for him, on his doorstep and actively involved. I wouldn't say he's a rookie or very experienced, somewhere in-between. He's done scouting for Liverpool, assistant and manager at both Boro and Bournemouth, so decent experience. When you are out of football, it can be difficult to get back in, so probably thought it was a good opportunity. Long may it be successful.
