Words absolutely fail me

He’s done it purposefully knowing he’s going to be derided . It’s got people talking about a nobody wannabe. Look we’re talking about him right now !

I don't have the vocabulary to express how idiotic this twot is

What an idiot! Shows how utterly out of touch with reality these people really are. A large proportion of working people can’t afford to save 5 grand up, let alone a homeless person! He deserves all the derision and ridicule that comes his way!

Everyday someone from that **** of a party has to stick the boot in to vulnerable people and when you speak to a Tory F***ing voter they just snigger and laugh like it`s not an issue

I thought I couldn`t get more angry than when the reports came out about the food packages for children but I am

The vast majority of people in this country are perfectly happy to see their house prices going up and up and up. A house is no longer a roof over your head it's an investment.
Save your OUTRAGE for that rather than something a dumb Tory said.
He would just be another in a line of mayors to do nothing.

"I know about that situation, I sofa surfed for years."

That's not quite the same as being homeless is it!

If you are sofa surfing you are classed as homeless.

Just in case you missed this bit.
He added: “You’re right, I definitely couldn’t have come up with £5,000, but those people I’m not expecting to or asking to. We’ll provide social housing for them.”

Yes, but most people who are homeless aren't sofa surfing.

And yes he backtracked after he was pressed, yes.

I help homeless people on a regular basis & I can tell you that many of them are sofa surfing.

Sofa surfing

Further to that, even if they had a £5k deposit, chances are they do not have a job, therefore would not qualify for a mortgage. I bet this guy still lives at his mums house.

Sofa surfing
Ok. I'll rephrase, most homeless people are sofa surfing but a significant proportion of them are living on the streets.

Well I’d never heard of him until on here and SFW if he’s London . There’s 5 x the population of UK outside London
Well London’s the capital, he could be mayor of it. I get that you don’t care about it but it doesn’t mean he’s a nobody who said it for bites. More worryingly, he’s a somebody who made a massive gaff on air.

Whilst I’m not a fan of the current mayor I’ve seen this guy a few times and what strikes me is his inexperience and lack of polish in his interviews. I know you are not allowed to say such things but he feels “too young”for the role. ( edit: I just checked he was actually born in 1971)

he sent us through letters the other week highlighting khans plan to increase council tax precept by 10 per cent in London. Seems a lot in the circumstances but like everyone Khan is desperate for funding so I guess it’s to be expected. I have my council tax bill, plus the london precept, plus another precept for elderly residents in the community. It all adds up and to be fair I’d rather they just roll it all into one. Seeing these additional precepts get added in year on year is a bit annoying!! Especially when each one of them from memory is a couple of hundred quid.
