World cup tickets on sale at 4pm

Iv been lucky enough get ghana,panama & 1st ko game £1400 all off fifa at face value i know prices shocking but had flights hotels booked so bit the bullet
 
I’m sorry but if this World Cup is a success, then those who have contributed to it, can not moan when the prices will be even higher at the next one.

An absolute disgrace these prices. Add in flights, hotels etc all much more expensive then they would be then people are being ripped off. It’s Ninety minutes of football for goodness sake.
 
Well, well, well. What a surprise. Hope nobody has reserved hotels at the ridiculous prices because they are going to drop. Also the drop in the expected number of foreign travellers is going to shock USA and FIFA

Fifa ordered to explain World Cup ticket pricing

It comes as the attorneys general of New York and New Jersey officially launched an investigation into Fifa's practices.

So, New York attorney Generals launch an investigation into ticket pricing. The same New York that put the trains up by 900%.

What exactly will this achieve anyway?

Tickets have been paid for, we are not going to get a refund. Pointless exercise unless FIFA officials get jailed.

The article states;

"But as of Wednesday, there were face-value tickets available for 86 of the 104 matches and all but 10 of the group-stage matches, for which the fixtures have long been known."

I have looked all Ticketing websites, including FIFA, and i cant find one at face value. The cheapest I can find are on Vivid seats and when you add in their cut, the price almost doubles.

I know you're having a rant, but who else should pay for the trains and buses they put on for the fans? FIFA don't contribute (and are charging more for a parking spot than most people would pay for a ticket to a big game) and so the New York Governor, who will not be getting any votes from the football fans, has decided to protect his taxpayers from having to pay.

I didn't go, but did TFL put their prices up by 900% for the play off finals last weekend? Or for the FA cup, Wembley concerts etc?

The more people that use the transport system, the more money it brings in. Surely there's no need to raise the prices by 900%.

Well you're asking the wrong person if you want the costings for extra transport on the New York transit system 😀 The prices have come down a bit now they've found sponsorship. Perhaps FIFA could be encouraged to contribute some of the massive profits from the parking spaces to subsidise the trains and buses? I can't see how a politician can be expected to justify getting his voters to pay for fan transport when the organisation running the event the transport is for are gonna make *checks notes* $Six Billion in media and sponsorship revenue. Bit like the Olympics, all the politicians claim massive boosts to their country from hosting and lo and behold when the dust settles there's a massive bill for the country (see the West Ham stadium).

Who on this thread is going to the World Cup?

I posted above about the scandalous price increase on the trains to get from Manhattan to New Jersey. After a bit of research, I managed to find out that there's a direct bus service to the ground. Bus lanes have been created and the buses go to ground every 30 mins from 4 different locations. They are quicker than the train and only cost €20 return. Added bonus that its the yellow school buses.
 
We're going. CDMX and Guadalajara rounded off with some time in Tulum.

Zero tickets yet but hopeful we'll get to at least one match. Tickets remain stubbornly high but think we might see a drop in price closer to kick off.
