You stupid Northerner

I have been bullied at several workplaces and once sacked from my job because the site manager said "we don't like northerners". As I had been there only 3 weeks there was nothing I could do. (The manager who took me on washed his hands of it all, saying it was nowt to do with him.)

In all honesty I read that and it doesn’t sound credible. It reads like she wanted out didn’t get a job elsewhere so finally resigned. Then she raised a grievance and has gone all in on it. That’s what makes it not credible - sex, race and religious discrimination and some threatening behaviour. I am 100 percent sure that GOSH has suitable channels to raise grievances though the fact she hasn’t and alleges all this once she has left just doesn’t add up. I don’t believe this for a second.

Is she faking the hair loss as well then. She seems to have plenty documented i think its highly likely she was bullied

Truth is none of us know. My only view is on the predictably awful angle the paper takes. It's obviously only taken it up to play to the worst knee jerk racism of its readership.

What also struck me as odd was she kept a diary from the day that she started there as if she was planning it almost.

just my thoughts after reading the article.

Hmm not sure Anout all that.

I’ve personally never felt any judgement down here due to being Northern, got far more stick in Newcastle/Sunderland for being a Smoggy.

Saying that on my first day down here, when the team took me for lunch one of the lads did ask me if I was going to be having a pork pie and whether I had a whippet.

But we’re good mates 5 years later and I have plenty to rip him for being from Norwich so not all bad!

edit - he also gave me stick about the Playoff final which had happened a couple of months previously. My response now is if we’d won, we’d have been relegated the following season and they would have been promoted which generally negates the debate

What on earth could she possibly gain, from planning it. She has probably documented it because shes been bullied previously in another position and hasnt had been taken seriously. From personal experience I was bullied in the workplace for a short period and deeply regret not keeping a journal. If it happened to me again i would keep date times what was said etc

I have no doubt some of the things she said happened but not in the way she says. The lift story is laughable , they probably bumped into each other.

the guy has probably said in his culture men are dominant.

somebody has probably said that Muslims are offended by people drinking.

I think she is twisting things to suit her agenda.

let’s see what happens.

I have compassion for the people she is accusing - it could be career threatening for them. neither of us know the truth. On balance reading the article that’s my view. To believe her story you have to believe all the accusations, you have to believe that many colleagues conspired against her, you have to believe that HR were so against her that they gave her a bad reference.( do you realise how careful HR departments are, in my experience they would never do that) A guy kicked her, slammed his fist in her desk. )bit yet no witnesses?) I’m just saying on the balance of probability i don’t think it happened. As mentioned my compassion is for those that she is accusing, they may lose their jobs, they probably have families etc etc.

So zero compassion or empathy for what she's been through?

Having not been born yesterday I have experienced both excellent HR staff/departments and terrible HR staff/departments. To say that HR must be right as they're all so careful is incredibly naive.

On July 31 2018 Ayotunde Ojo told me that I 'can't drink alcohol after work on Friday, it's against my religion and it would be offending Muslims.' = Simple answer to that. We do not live in a muslm country and your 8th century religion has no place in western society so keep it to yourself. If you do not like people drinking then go to a muslim country. Simple. Unfortunately I will be called Islamaphobic for that and probably would have lost my job in her position.

On September 4 2018 Margaret King called me a 'silly white b***h.' = Racist

On October 12 2018 Ayatunde Ojo called me 'a white Yorkshire girl.' = Racist

On October 19 2018 Ayatunde Ojo asked me what my religious beliefs were because I was a 'white girl.' = Racist

But remember the rules, Minorities can't be racist only white people.

If any of the above is true then I want them held to the same standards that have been placed with anyone white and I want them fired plain and simple. If not then i'm afraid it just further cements the hypocrisy and double standards in this country.

Why don't you just wait for the outcome of the tribunal?

You write as if you know all of those involved intimately.

No I don’t know them, just saying from the article it sounds unrealistic, of course i don’t have all the facts, she may welll be telling the truth.

If she has been through what she claims to have been through then that is horrendous and of course I feel bad that somebody is treated in such a way.

to believe her story you have to believe that 4 separate colleagues abused her in different ways (racially, religiously and due to her sex), it happens of course it does but four people whom are all risking their jobs because of their hatred for this girl? Ok assume I believe that I then have to believe that the HR department then conspired against the people that they are meant to be protecting (again risking their jobs) for what reason? And finally just because they are vindictive HR instruct payroll to deduct money from her wages for no valid reason? It all could have happened like she says but it seems a bit of a stretch to me.

let’s see maybe she has some evidence that corroborates her story.
