Yusuf

We are in the East just along from where he was today. He was superb. Did a lot for race relations, did a lot for the community and made today’s match a lifelong memory for all of those kids. What a guy. I think the stewards were worried about the amount of people in the north or going there from The East. One wasn’t letting kids go song at first. Once a couple of adults had a word with him then the floodgates opened. I think they were (quite rightly) worried about them going on the pitch. Thankfully everyone just had a superb time. Well done to all involved!

Harmless fun. No doubt Boro will be in a difficult position in the next home game as seats are allocated to be sat in for a safety reason ... especially young uns. The stewards wouldnt want to be seen as party poopers so turned a blind eye. Even Boro Live TV highlighted the scene during the live broadcast giving promotion to the gathering. Hope it doesnt end in tears,

What a guy! Yusuf is what is needed especially in the North/East where the young ones need a little help (singing) Met him a few times quality bloke. My only question was why did yusuf change his seat from the south. Ps, big respect to yusuf, thank you 😊 utfb
I think he generally goes at the bottom corner of the south, but makes the occasional guest appearance elsewhere.
UTY.

You’d be gutted if you were sat in the front rows directly behind where they they were doing it, to be fair 😂 at least it was towards the end of the match.

I understand why the stewards would be annoyed, they’re in a lose lose situation as they’ll either get it in the neck from their supervisors or the fans.

I was sat in the East Lower for this and must say it was one of the most heart warming images I have seen at the Riverside. Besides the fact that Yusuf was hilarious and brilliant in having kids come up to him for selfies every 5 minutes, seeing a good group of young kids continuously sing songs for 15 minutes really gave that next generation feeling.

It can't go unnoticed that having Carrick come in has created this sort of atmosphere at the Riverside. In nigh on 30 years I have never seen it so positive.

I believe the stewards were put on the opposite side of the boarding for risks of overcrowding and they could have pulled kids over should have it got too overwhelming. I wouldn't expect to see it every game but I don't believe it warrants any punitive action as it fitted well with the performance on the pitch.

My lad was in amongst it and on the way home he said it was the best boro game he had been to and he's been going for 8yrs. Moments like that will live on in his mind for years. As you said it's what cements these kids as Boro fans for the rest of their lives.

Yusuf is one of a kind and one of the most positive things to come out of the club in recent years.

Credit also to the stewards for allowing it to happen and also for the people sat behind that didn't kick up a fuss.

Football these days is so sterile that it was great to see something so spontaneous. I absolutely loved it

Why did stewards need to be mob handed

I thought they were very tolerant of it to be honest. I note how the only stewards in the photo aren't exactly rushing to break it all up. I think they allowed it to go on until fulltime. What did you mean by "mob handed"? Examples?

It looked great fun, but the problem with this kind of thing, is it pushes the boundary of what's acceptable. If this is perfectly ok, it's only a matter of time until someone is doing gazette face, complaining that it's outrageous that their little tyke can't go running on to the pitch to get selfies with players during the match.

All good fun, the lad loves Boro and it's nice to see him in the news for positive reasons rather than because fans have slated him for one reason or another, but the club won't let that happen next game they're bound by H&S rules.

Yusuf is now an adopted Teessider. Who else from London would pick the Boro to support? I loved watching him interact with the kids on Saturday. No other game unites people like football.

These are special times to be a Boro fan. I’m trying not to get carried away but why shouldn’t I? Carricks influence and management has been nothing short of miraculous.

Yusuf can see that Teessiders are the warmest, kindest and most accepting people in the country ( despite our very high crime rates haha) UTB
