Sky have had the run of the mill for over 30 years. The new TNT Sports (merger between Discovery/Warner Bros and BT) as well as Amazon Prime is finally going to break the stranglehold. They’ve also recognised that people want to pay one subscription and watch it all on any device they want whenever they want, Sky have always resisted this to protect their multi-room offering but if they don’t catch up soon it will be curtains.

That’s not true sky had the one subscription model but it was broken up by monopolies and mergers committee as a cartel so they had to split it.

Btw BT will also have to split it.

You can blame sky for many things but not this.
 
Dont know who most of pundits are. No disrespect i pay to see players who have achieved and have opinions that are entertaining and interrsting. Most pundits just state the bleeding obvious.

You’re talking about something totally different.

I’m talking about the fact that people want to subscribe to a service and watch it on any device by downloading an app. Sky have always refused that model and kept NowTV separate to protect their multi-room offering.

I’m not taking about anything to do with the monopolies commission.
 
PL aren’t going it alone for a long time. I’d like to hear the price that people would be prepared to pay because it would be a lot less than they would have to charge to match the money they currently get through Sky.

Every person who has sky is contributing towards the cost of the PL matches. Even if they don’t take the sports packages.

As for Discovery I’m not sure they will change the game the way that people think. They’ve cut staff at BT already and look to be running things on a tight budget in this country.

Apparently Chappers is the main replacement for Jeff on Soccer Saturday. He was brought in for that but when Jeff stayed he got other presenting jobs in the meantime.
