* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v West Brom Match-Day Thread *

Exactly like we had under wilder last year . Yet you got called an idiot if you saw the parallels

Face it, Carrick has been found out

Well at least Smith is back.

Can't believe a right back wasn't on that list of positions we needed to fill.
Mate on another thread the 3 in thread I said this and the fmttm gang rounded on me like it was madness to suggest Smith isn't a great player.

How do you reverse a cycle where we start poorly and end up sacking every October in the hope we get the bounce, though? Eventually the bounce will not follow and we’ll just sink like a stone.

I don't enjoy watching us anymore.

It's just week after week of us conceding pathetic goals, even when we used to win all those months ago.

I hope not, we’re following the exact same arc as Wilder.

- Manager comes in,
- Results pick up
- Form falls away at the death
- Fall short
- Big overhaul promised,
- Miss out on targets
- Start the season terribly

Rinse and repeat. The common denominator is the recruitment team.

It’s not Carrick.

It's the recruitment team AND Carrick.

But I don't want him gone, we will get better at some point this season is just a write off.

To be fair we’ve never been able to defend under Carrick. He needs to start sorting that out.
