Glastonbury 2024 Headliners

Dua Lipa yes good choice

Madonna - meh. Should be legend slot

Coldplay - Hope they have a good act on at Other or West Holts.

100%, for me it’s abit meh as well and doesn’t scream come and spend loads of money on me, clearly aimed at the average Brit rather than music festival fans so I expect most of the masses won’t have an issue with it and it will still sell out straight away though

Dua Lipa and Coldplay both make sense. Madonna also I guess ... in the Elton, Macca, Springsteen vein of headliners. Coldplay are just about peerless as a festival/arena band. I say this in the context of what Glastonbury has become, rather than what it used to be. Personally, I'd rather it were James, but hey ho. I won't be there. The tickets will sell out and all three headliners will put on a decent show.

We all have our favourites who we would like to see headlining and James or New Order would be my perfect idea of a headliner but I’ve been lucky to see both there on other stages. As we have got older and musical tastes change havent we been left behind and Glastonbury’s demographic has changed? Dua Lipa is a great singer but not my cuppa tea but I’m not their main demographic anymore. Fortunately the other 41 stages will have something on I will like.

She's not a pleasant person. I know that from my daughter as she was a guest at the Cambridge Union and she was not only a diva but rude to the union members who had approached her as a guest, disrespectful to staff and security people and refused to allow some of the normal procedures of Q&A which had been agreed prior to the event.
She has collaborated with Elton John on Broken Heart. Maybe a little bit of Elton has rubbed off.

Coldplay headlining again lacks imagination but I suppose there will be first timers at the festival liking it. Good to see Dua Lipa there though. The girl is a huge star so I hope she does well.

There will be tons of other things to see and do
We are going to give it a swerve and head for the Inmusic festival at Zagreb the week before.
The National are headlining that

No doubt before heading to Glasto for The Other stage

Nice, saw them in Amsterdam few weeks back. Best time yet. My days of attending Glasto are behind me but love a weekend of stage hopping on the iPlayer.

Probably do end of the road again this year. Particularly appealing now we have access to a camper 😎

At least Madonna wont have to rehearse. She just sets the backing tapes rolling and away. Could not believe it when my friend said she doesn't play with a band but just backing tapes. She went to see her in London £150(for one of the cheapest tickets) and its almost like her doing Karaoke with dancers.

I went with the wife. It reminded me of going to see Ken Dodd. On stage for 5 minutes, off for 5 while dancers dance to a backing track, back for 5, etc.
More and more these events are become shows where you need 40 dancers and choreography is more important than the music or sound quality. I've had more entertainment watching a band I've never heard of in Doctor Brown's, and even at today's prices I can't drink £150 worth of beer.

Cobblers apparently

The Guardian reported this last night. Now I know they copied the Mails article but it is the official media partner of the Festival so they knew something. My guess is that Emily Evis didn't want this announced with sensitive negotiations going on so issued this denial.

You watch - it will be pretty much this headline trio
