Deal accepted for Morgan Rogers.

City truly are a bunch of grifters feeling the need to trouser a few million's worth out of us given their assets. Then again, maybe that's how we got him so cheap in the first place.

Good luck Morgan, very promising player and seems like a good lad too.

Meh. Feels like we've been mugged off as usual to me really. If £10m up front and a bunch of potential add-ons is us doing good business and "playing hard ball" while other clubs get around £20m for their young players then I'm not overly enthused. Once again haemorrhaging creativity, only this time halfway through the season. Great.

Poor from us - add ons that never get added on no doubt. We will end up with about 6m profit which in the grand scheme of things is nothing. If he does well then his value will be at least double this figure we’re supposedly getting
Great from us - We will end up with about 6m profit which in the grand scheme of things is fantastic. If he does poorly then his value will be at least less this figure we’re supposedly getting

£6m does buy you 4 Morgan Rogers though....

Happy with this like, before December he hardly had a look in unless it was in the Carling cup so I dont get how people are judging him to be a potential world beater. Not saying he might not be one but I would rather have 10-15 Million for a promotion push than him, and then potentially have a decent future income with a sell on fee.

Very much trust the process at Boro, they know best.

Fee could rise to £16m according to Sky. Blackburn selling Wharton to Palace for £16 million with potential to rise to £22m - wow

We've just bought one of the most creative players in the championship this season.

While I'd have been very happy to see him stay, you can't argue with the business sense that we signed a player for next to nothing and have sold him for many times more with him only playing a modest number of games.

Hamer took a couple of seasons to get to that point, looked the best player in the Championship towards the end of last season, and went for similar money. Rogers does have more potential and is younger - but if we also have a sell on clause, I'd say this is an overall win for us.

Bit of a meh post in all honesty mate. Its all relevant

All transfers are different, all players are different regardless if they are young, in terms of ability, position and mentality/ personality. All selling clubs are in different positions. Not to mention all buying clubs offer different deals and packages.

To say X went for 20 million, why cant we get 20 too because hes young ... its a weak argument.

Yeah, I don't actually expect us to sign one, but we've got more scope to do so now, so you never know.
You look ahead to Sunderland on Sunday as well, I mean we’re VERY stretched without Rogers. We were down to the bare bones anyway. There’ll be no Jones, Silvera, McGree, Latte Lath, now Rogers, we don’t know if Coburn is fit. It’s fine to celebrate the club coining it in but we need to start winning games and moving back up the league. We must surely have a player lined up to replace him.
