Have we got enough to get in the playoffs?

Our problem has been conceding too many goals from wide areas. We now have two new fullbacks. The promoted teams keep clean sheets. Just need our two strikers back now šŸ‘

We do if we perform better, but we'll need to be near faultless or hope for some slip-ups from the teams above us.

We could be in a much stronger position after Sunday, if things go our way.

All the squads around us have a mixture of strengths and weaknesses and we're not significantly better or worse than any of the chasing pack so yes, we do have enough.

I don't think we'll make it though.

With all the players gradually returning, including those away on International duty, plus the recent new arrivals - we have the nouse and experience to kick on and get us into the play-offs. Because we have no ā€œstand-out" ā€œstarsā€, like we did last season, we may stand a better chance of over-coming the hurdles we didn't before. Remember last season, Giles, Archer, and Ramsey couldn't help push us over the line. We are better placed now.

The problem now is we're going to be missing Rogers creativity, his goals, his assists, his drive, his ability to play as an emergency striker, who replaces that?

Not getting in another CF is an issue. Especially as Lath and Coburn have had injuries. I'm sure Coburn is still carrying one.

We have missed so many chances in games at key moments. Simply not clinical. So I feel a CF was the one real missing piece. I'm not sure if we can manage with only 2 recognised No9s. Again both injury prone.

I didn't expect a Stella name like Archer etc. Just thought we'd at least get in a raw youngster from a prem side. Especially with Kav joining Bradford.

Itā€™s a tough one. I personally think the club are very keen to make sure our next striker signing is a key addition. We werenā€™t going to be rushed into making the wrong signing.

Part of that I think is based on the league. Squeezing into the top 6 will be tough. Even if we get there. With the likes of Southampton, Ipswich (who are on a crest of a wave), Leeds etc. itā€™ll be the toughest play off in a number of seasons.

Had we been in the top 6 and sniffing at automatic, I think the club would have pushed the boat out and gambled.

Are we good enough to push the top 6? I donā€™t think we are any worse than a number of other clubs around us. Hull are the dark horses. Theyā€™ve recruited very well and I fancy them to take a play off spot.

Get McGree back and hopefully strikers retuning the fitness then I believe we can have a good run. Consistency has been our Achilles heal all season though. Not sure I see that changing based on the personnel we have. The squad is at a similar level now vs. Before the window. Potentially marginally better with the defensive additions.

My long term belief for a while has been that anything that happens this season is a bonus. I hope to see us have a big go next year, with a core squad thatā€™ll have a full seasons experience under their belt and some quality additions during the summer.

You should always take promotion if you can get it, but Iā€™m not sure we are really ready for PL football at the moment.

We can make the play offs if we can keep key players fit. Not having Hackney, Forss and McGree killed us. Weā€™ve got enough in the squad to beat anyone on our day, but if we have another injury crisis weā€™ll struggle.

Glover/Dieng

Ayling/RVDB
Clarke/Fry
Engel/McNair

Jones/Gilbert
Howson/Barlaser
Hackney/Oā€™Brien
Thomas/McGree

Forss/Silvera
Crooks/Coburn/Latte Lath
Azaz/Greenwood

I think we can set up in a more dynamic way with the changes weā€™ve made.. when fit/available the ā€˜2nd stringā€™ is 1st string quality. Lots of quality options.

Whoā€™s to say we wonā€™t have any more bad injuries?

I canā€™t see Lath or Coburn staying fit for the remainder of the season once they are back.

One thing I will say is when McGree is back it will genuinely feel like a new signing.

Boro be ok selling Rogers for that money helps keep us afloat. We have Azaz to replace him forss is back scoring ,mcgree and silvera to come back soon and with fullbacks we have signed we should be ok yes it would have been nice to add a striker but that loss can give Forss more opportunities and maybe hoppe can be added back to the squad as back up while Coburn and latte get fit.

I fully agree having Mcgree back is 'like a new signing'. It's easy to forget just how good he is. He's been massively missed.

Also Forss has come back and hit the ground running. It's important he stays fit. Although it's hard to count him as an actual 'CF' as it's clear Carrick doesn't see him in that role. Despite spending the large majority of his career down the middle. I'd say he's our best finisher (excuse the pun).

To the OP , No
Unless we've healing hands in the back room , we've had nowhere near the required solid 11 - 13 for a top six run .
We've over used players that needed longer off whilst injured in all likelihood for this year ; I love them for being warriors ,
But it'll take it's toll on a run in ..
There's a real chance next year ( depending on keeping Jones / hackney / RVDB / Mcgree) and a few signings
