Both wanted to leave one for the chance to pay in the premier League and Crooks for a better lifestyle for his family
How could we turn the Rogers money down or stand in the way of what is a great opportunity for him.Plus selling two of our main attacking threats morgan/crooks but we will just skip past that one eh!!
Sorry Scrug, can you please give me a list of words I can say?
Is divvy ok to say?
Listen I get what your saying and yes part of me agrees with that but which team sells both attacking threats when apparently pushing for a play off spot. Where you at the game on Saturday because by the looks of it half the first team look deflated and have given up any hope of reaching the play offs. When we are selling our main threats and replacing them with average players what's the message getting sent to the rest of the squad. Then a couple of days later we get the hike in ticket prices again and when you compare to the rest of the division its an absolute disgrace!! Use carry on defending Gibson and Co but while he is here this club is stuck in limbo!!How could we turn the Rogers money down or stand in the way of what is a great opportunity for him.
Crooks' involvement in the team was going to be limited and also a great move for him and his family.
Stuck in limbo. Play offs last season. Semi final of League Cup this. If you want to see a team stuck in limbo look at Birmingham and they have changed owners three times in the last 15 years.Listen I get what your saying and yes part of me agrees with that but which team sells both attacking threats when apparently pushing for a play off spot. Owners are allowed to inject equity. I'm not sure what the value is or whether Gibson has been doing that. I do know that loans don't count and it has to be secured funding (i.e. a payment to the club) and until recently when Gibson converted debt to equity it has been secured by a loan. Someone else @indeedido will be able to clear it up no doubt.Personally i don't see how 'extra investment' would help us? Under FFP we are allowed to lose £35m over a rolling 3 season period, this shortfall is picked up by the owners of the club, largely aside from the odd season here and there SG has put this in. If new 'investment' came in, we still can't loose anymore then £35m over 3 seasons. If SG wasn't prepared to pick up the shortfall anymore then we have to cut our cloth to suit or find someone else to put it in.
My feelings are the club are trying to get themselves in line with new FFP rules which will come in when the EFL & PL finally agree a deal over the parachute payments. Parachuite payments are going to go with them being replaced with meritocricy payments based on league positions. The PL want a wage cap in place to stop clubs spunking the money on inflated wages, it's rumoured they want 70% of turnover, I think it will settle at 80%. Boro were 105% at last accounts and this had gone up slightly, possibly skewed a bit by Wilder's pay off. Boro have to reduce the wage bill to turnover ratio likely by the 25/26 season, players salaries will take time as contracts end and new ones are agreed, so they really need to concentrate on increasing income, guess the ST rise is part of this, as well as trying to increase transfer revenue.
There's not much else they can do, advertising/sponsor revenue will fall off a cliff when the ban on Gambling companies comes in, can't see any other industry paying the numbers they have paid, which will make things even tougher. Given Boro have traditionally been one of the biggest wage payers in the league, they are starting from a difficult position, but this has been ooing over the last two seasons, with big wage earners coming off the books, replaced by younger 'talent' on much lower wages.
I suspect our wages will be lower than 100% this season, its calculated on a three year window and the last window included the last year of Britt, Fletcher, Howson (original deal), McNair (original deal)My feelings are the club are trying to get themselves in line with new FFP rules which will come in when the EFL & PL finally agree a deal over the parachute payments. Old enough not to understand NC’s comment.Owned?
Jesus how old are we?
How about the Club communicate intelligently and respectfully to start with?If we had an overseas owner am not sure I would have been able to send him a message and within 5 minutes receive a reply and within an hour see a positive reaction and change to the announcement. Steve Gibson listened to what many people said on this forum - I voiced that to him and that 2 weeks could make such a difference for so many people to be able to afford to pay. The club discussed it and made a change - all within a morning. Or within an hour to be honest.
Am glad that we have been able to communicate this and more than anything else am glad that many people might now be able to afford something that could possibly have been out of reach.
Any reason given for original deadline? If we had an overseas owner am not sure I would have been able to send him a message and within 5 minutes receive a reply and within an hour see a positive reaction and change to the announcement. Sounds like it needed sorting before he went on holiday.Any reason given for original deadline?

I haven't got a hotline. I just thought I needed to try and convince the club on this matter. How about the Club communicate intelligently and respectfully to start with?
Not having to correct a huge own goal in their minimalist first effort.
No effort to address the other concerns expressed by so many.
Like thanks for fans’ support, appreciation of financial pressures fans face, explanation why there is need for an increase, articulation of future intent/vision, explanation why the EB needs paying by even the end of March and why there is no interest free way of spreading payments.
Still nice to know your special hotline works.
Pity you didn’t use it more challengingly more often.
I don't think he is on holiday.Sounds like it needed sorting before he went on holiday.
Thank you. Appreciate this.Rob,
It's fortuitous that you have the skin if a rhino when dealing with some of the issues posted on this message board. Many, including me, would have walked long ago. Keep doing what you're doing knowing that you have the support of the vast majority here.
