Weird fishes my favourite - there's a cover of it on Leanne La Havas last album which is surprisingly very good too.Weird Fishes is absolutely brilliant as is the whole album.
I remember Oasis' album 'Be Here Now' coming out and everyone being like.. urrr wtf?The Bends is like a lot of incomplete tunes with promising intros.
OK Computer always reminds me of the wek that followed the death of Princess Diana.
Yes she played that at Glastonbury a few years back it sounded fantasticWeird fishes my favourite - there's a cover of it on Leanne La Havas last album which is surprisingly very good too.
Why people who don't like the band have to reply with 'funny' comments is beyond me.
it truly is, and Radiohead threads always seem to attract this for some weird reason. Some people really get concerned about music being too intellectual, and can't help but feel they must find a way to ridicule it.When I see a thread about something that doesn't interest me, I scroll by. It would never occur to me to open up the thread and make a post about how I don't like that thing. Weird.
First saw them in 98 at the Tibetan Freedom concert in Washington DC. Superb. Seen Radiohead/Atoms for Peace/Thom Yorke probably 10 times since. To my shame I haven't seen them live and only recently got into them. I used to have a similar opinion to some on this thread. I guess maybe age made me appreciate them more
Yeah they released this as one of the rejects from the Kid A & Amnesia album sessions. They've had some incredible reject tracks.Almost impossible to pick - there's a version of "How to disappear completely" live in Dublin shortly after Kid A came out which is spellbinding.
At the moment, it's probably this - just as I've never heard it before.
I've only seen them once in Lisbon and I was sick as a dog which took the shine if it somewhat. Can't wait for another chance.
They did an incredible song for Spectre, the Bond film, can't believe it wasn't used.Howy then what are the board's favourite Radiohead tunes.
WTF ? Why is it strange? It's a forum where people comment on the subject title. Is that difficult to understand. So, like it or not here is my opinion.it truly is, and Radiohead threads always seem to attract this for some weird reason. I could've written that post K_t_BWTF ? Why is it strange? It's a forum where people comment on the subject title. Is that difficult to understand. So, like it or not here is my opinion.
I get it you like Radiohead, I just can't get into them at all. It's nothing to do with the music being "too intellectual". In fact the music is far from being intellectual, perhaps you mean the lyrics, but the music is one paced, predictable, dull. whiny, boring and depressing. If you want intellectual music try some classic / early prog with its complex chord structures and time signatures & changes played by highly skilled multi instrumental musicians. Radiohead music is about as intellectual as Coldplay and just as entertaining.
I've really tried to connect with them, encouraged by mates who love them. I wouldn't care but I love Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree and even quite like (some) Muse so it would seem natural for me to like Radiohead as well but they just leave me cold. That Father Ted clip is exactly what their music does to me.
I may try again with some of the recommendations on here but I don't hold out much hope.
Still, you can't like everything.
....... and on that, I'm out. Don't want to upset BoroMart any more
