I've been reading the DCFC forums and I don't understand the vendetta they have with Gibson.
It's clearly not Gibson vs. DCFC.
It's Gibson vs. Bad Owners / Bad Administrators, and he's using Mel Morris and this administration deal to highlight it, to hopefully prevent it happening again in the future.
1. MSD (a lender) is owed a significant amount of money by Derby County which is personally guaranteed by Mel Morris. If Derby County went into liquidation, Mr Morris would have to settle the debt and therefore he has an interest in resolving the matter. Please confirm the current status of the discussions with the lender and Mr Morris about the debt and the transfer of Pride Park, which is owned by Mr Morris, to any purchaser of Derby County.
Gibson vs. Bad Owners.
DCFC owe MSD Holdings £15 mill+, "which is personally guaranteed by MM". If DCFC can't pay it, MM needs to follow up on his guarantee?
If Derby do go into liquidation, MM will have to pay the £15 mill to MSD himself anyway. If Derby survive, DCFC will have to pay MSD, and MM saves £15 mill. So why isn't MM sorting it out?
MM owns Pride Park, so whoever buys Derby (who already have no money) will I assume then need to bankroll DCFC to lease the stadium from MM in order to play in it?
Gibson is highlighting massive flaws in the system.
2. You met with Steve Gibson in November 2021. It was agreed at the meeting there would be a continued dialogue between you and Mr Gibson. Why did you not then engage or communicate with him at all until Friday 14 January 2022?
Gibson vs. Bad Administrators. Nothing to do with DCFC. Pretty obvious. Administrators agreed to continued discussion then didn't discuss anything.
3. As noted above, you give the impression that the sole issue that is left to resolve is our and Wycombe’s claim. Please confirm that you have reached a settlement with HMRC and the basis of that settlement.
Gibson vs. Bad Administrators. Nothing to do with DCFC. Administrators leaking details to the media claiming the sole issue that is left is Boro/Wycombe.
Gibson highlighting if that's the case, DCFC must have already settled with HMRC, which should be in the public domain?
4. Contrary to what you leak to the media, we have made an offer to compromise our claim and met with your nominated representative last weekend. Please confirm that this is correct.
Same as above. Gibson vs. Bad Administrators. Nothing to do with DCFC.
5. Please confirm how many millions of Derby County’s money you have spent on your fees to date and what additional debt you have incurred.
Gibson vs. Bad Administrators. Nothing to do with DCFC. DCFC apparently have no money, yet the administrators are still charging massive fees, which DCFC have to pay, probably before paying other debtors, which is just making the situation worse.
Gibson would be fighting this fight no matter what club was at the other end of it. Derby, Sunderland, Man City, it doesn't matter.
