Acuri Admits to Sleeping with Blonde

No. It never has been.

Originally it was created as an almost philanthropic venture. The idea was to bring culture to the masses.

Once it started to split into more clearly defined sections (news, sport, arts, children etc) some of those sections became more dominated by the types of people drawn to those sectors.

The news has been dominated by right-wingers for as long as I can remember (about 40 years). Over the past 20 years or so what was a guiding-hand has become far more insidious. That doesn't mean that the arts side (or comedy for that matter) isn't still dominated by left-wingers.

The news (and current affairs e.g. Question Time) output from the BBC is massively right-wing.

The right have taken to calling the BBC left-wing and pointing at comedians and arty types. They never mention the news output in isolation though. It's just more of the usual smoke and mirrors 'culture war' bollox that the right are so good at conning the gullible with.
I must assume that making people think it is right wing dominated is a tactic to make it even more left dominated

You'll be telling me next Channel 4 is right wing dominated

If anything it should be neutral. Although even neutral depends largely on how you view morality, I suppose.

Channel 4 largely gets it right (in terms of news output that I see) but it isn't nearly as much a part of the furniture as the BBC so has less moral imperative (in my opinion).

Do you think that BBC news & current affairs are not dominated by people that would come under the description 'right-wing' in any standard political discourse?

The distraction tactics always work, in a 7 page post that should be purely about the corrupt and dishonest actions of a publicly elected figure, his misappropriation of public funds to support an affair, his breaking of security protocols, his seemingly erroneous awards of grants to a business that didn’t qualify for them, his denial of any improper behaviour, etc etc and we’re discussing the size of a flag and the tweets of a newsreader....it’s like discussing the colour of a fire engine whilst your house is on fire.

There are people on this board, and indeed this post, that revel in distraction and are seemingly content with the likes of Johnson getting away with the things that would put you or I in prison. Only they know their motivations for doing so.

Yeah, this is another thing about the people who defend this Government. They KNOW it's morally corrupt, they know what they are doing is wrong so why do they deflect from the issues? There must be something not quite right with them

No they are just political. A lot of people vote Tory and the leaders can get away with being criminals, elitists, extremists, liars, sexist, racist and divisive because as long as they are Tories that’s ok. We have a long history of accepting white collar crime in this country.

Interesting point AM made above though because I thought myself that some of the posting was baffling on this thread, maybe under the influence as well as rank Tory?

Almost every thread on here goes off topic. after about 10 or so posts.
To turn it around its like discussing the colour of a passport when the whole course of a nation is about to change

No. The colour of the passport was cited as a reason for the change. The passport colour wasn't determined by membership of the EU. It was a UK choice throughout.

The course of a nation is changing but the only way to effect that change was to lie about things like passport colour. That is a valid part of the discussion.

Not only did she sneer but followed it up with a series , yes a series of tweets liking defamatory tweets against the national flag.
The worst part of it is according to the BBC charter she is not there to express her opinions. She has received rebukes already for doing so.

Stick to reading out loud from the autocue and be grateful for the 200K salary
Think you need to read the BBC charter. One of the most important statements is that of independence, which it clearly isn't.

“Binbag full of custard”. So Arcuri was only trifling with Johnson then.

Cardiff. Spot on. Sums up the complete political landscape. The national broadcaster now stocked full of Tory shills. It is a grave attack on democracy and accountability.

I’m aghast at how little coverage in the media this horrendous affair got. Wasteful public money, and countless lies from the Prime Minister. But the worst bit about it is the complete lack of challenge from our so called independent national broadcaster. This journalist from Double Down News and ex BBC employees puts it perfectly.

I can't believe that the people in this country were happy to support a man so low in moral fibre that he would screw some woman while his wife was receiving life saving cancer treatment. If that doesn't tell you the guys lack of morals then nothing will.

Meanwhile David Frost wants to hire someone specifically to search for benefits of Brexit.

He is having to look outside Government and the Civil Service, they have drawn a blank.

The truth is, there probably isn't any to find and its another waste of tax payers money. An argument could be made for the way vaccine procurement was done, but that's about it. I may also argue, I suppose that with the EU arms agreement, we are another step closer to an EU funded and controlled armed forces, which I am against.

On the flip side, just the break up of the union outweighs the meagre benefits.

The bigger question might be, does Johnson care? I suspect not.
