What time was this, was in the area around 1710 and saw nothing. Sad really.
I wonder if there's a way we can find out the lads identity.I don,t mfc 79.That is what I was pointing out. He did nothing to stand out. Someone threw a punch at him, he tried to run away, was chased and other people shouted that he was a Cov.fan. Then more people dived in. I felt sickened.

It would be a nice gesture if we could set up a crowdfunding for him and buy him something, with a little note saying "from the Boro".
Even if it was just a Coventry mug with a personalised message from us.
From experience, if you get involved you quickly become the target, and it always more than one or two.
As Indeedido rightly stated, no need for violence, no excuses, whatever went on, whoever the individual was, whether there was anything said or not, there is no defence for violence. I hope the ‘people’ that were involved are caught and prosecuted. One blow can kill someone, ruin lives of many others. Anyone witnessing such an incident has a duty to report it to the police at the very least, I hope the Trug and others have done so, if not, why not?I’d be more inclined to find out the facts first if anyone knows what started it. Plenty here are of an age that they remember footy violence being the norm at every game, but for a long time now it’s been rare for someone to be battered just for being an away fan.
I’m not saying this isn’t one of those occasions I’d just like to know the full story before anyone starts crowd funding. If totally random without reason I’m sure it’ll make the local media.
Yes but legalising drugs will put a stop to it all.I also saw the last part of this about twenty yards ahead of me. Sickening stuff from, we assume local coked up INCELS. Poor young lad. It doesn't matter whether he was a Coventry supporter or not.
Hard to step in if. like Trug, you are with your kids.As Indeedido rightly stated, no need for violence, no excuses, whatever went on, whoever the individual was, whether there was anything said or not, there is no defence for violence. At 67 yrs old there is nothing I can do. I haven't reported it to the police but will do so today. There is little I can add to what I have posted.Hard to step in if. like Trug, you are with your kids.
But as you say they should have been reported. I hope someone has phone footage and they can be identified.
Utter scum.
Spot on TrugAt 67 yrs old there is nothing I can do. I haven't reported it to the police but will do so today. There is little I can add to what I have posted.

Excellent imaginative suggestion parmoboy. Especially the mug idea, love it.I wonder if there's a way we can find out the lads identity.

He can be surely identified. He wasn't hiding - he was grandstandingIf the fans in question can be identified, they need banning.
Absolutely no need for it at all.
I too remember those days and have definitely noticed a change in atmosphere this season, though it seems ti be more inside the ground than out, which is surprising given the CCTV coverage. From where I sit, it seems as if the main protagonists are teenagers, rather than older men with families?I am in my 60s and remember the bad days of the 70s and 80s vividly. I remember the vicious battle at half time in the concourse against Chelsea in the ZDS final when all hell broke loose, and innocent people got caught up in the mayhem. I remember being pushed against the barrier when a Leeds thug managed to get into the Holgate on a suicidal mission. I remember thinking when will this stop? Thank God things are so different these days, but I get the feeling this is creeping back in again. The sight of grown men taunting other grown men across a row of empty seats throughout the match is pathetic.
Will they go home to their families and tell them they had a great day at the football? What sort of role modelling is this setting for their kids and others? I know its pointless me complaining because they are neanderthal. They are incapable of changing or learning at that age. I agree with Parmoboy. A crowd funder for the innocent Coventry fan would be a wonderful gesture from the decent Boro fans. Who are still the majority here will must remember.
