What did he win with the 200 goals?200+ goals isn't a success? 200+ goals isn't a link to our club? Honestly Norman I think that's a bonkers attitude to take.
Hence why he left the club. What did he win with the 200 goals?
Derby and Forest is the teams he won things for, leave the statues to them.

OK, how many cap for England and Great Britain did he get?None of the players with statues outside the Riverside won anything with Middlesbrough.

Your just being pedantic with that reply and sounding desperate to have a hero.Nothing to do with Middlesbrough, so it should be discounted by your logic.
His goalscoring record for Middlesbrough is up there with the best we've ever had.
A bit blunt, but I totally agreeI don’t get the Clough love in on Teesside. I understand he is an ex player and local lad who done very well in management, but so did Revie. Clough also went and played for our rivals. Leave his statue in Albert Park, it’s got no links to our club.

No more than Robbie Mustoe and no one is shouting to have one built of him. What about Slaven, he scored more important goals than Clough.I'm 29, he stopped managing when I was 1 year old, I don't see him as a hero at all.
From everything I've watched and read about him, he was an ****.
I just think he's entirely worthy of a statue because of his record with the club, his link to the town and yes, his total career.

I’m 61 this year and liked Cloughy’s outspoken mannerisms and think he should have been given the England managers job., but no way should a statute be built or added to the Riverside of him. Many more worthy players before him.
Bernie is a great idea , more recent and more people will know of himI'd have a statue of Bernie Slaven, he's a key part of our history.
Or at least a mural of the 1986-89 period, as Slaven wasn't the only one.
Don’t you think that (mural) would be more in keeping than a statue of Clough? I would even chip in for that.I'd have a statue of Bernie Slaven, he's a key part of our history.

I am not saying I am right, I just feel it should be left at Albert Park. The statue of Clough is already made though, it's just whether we move it from Albert Park to the Riverside.
No reason we can't have both.
