After saying signings were all but done last Saturday ………….
Unfortunately he doesnt make/complete transfers, he can only go off the information he's given by the team. After saying signings were all but done last Saturday ………….
I remember a Channel 5 programme that followed Chris Wilder and Sheff Utd's transfer business when the were in League 1. He was very much in control of calling agents and players, trying to get them through the door. It seemed very 'wheeler dealer' to me at the time.Unfortunately he doesnt make/complete transfers, he can only go off the information he's given by the team.
I'm sure he's as frustrated as us

I suspect he's more in the background at the Boro and that'll be frustrating for him.
Oh come on, where's the fun in that?Perhaps, just perhaps, he's not a hysterical as some of the fans and understands how things work and therefore the last thing on his mind is being "embarrassed" in front of a load of journalists for something out of his control ?

I remember reading an article about that somewhere, an insight into transfer deadline day or something . Was really interesting and the first time I’d heard of Wilder. He came across as pretty straight and transparent.
But this.most clubs are not releasing players until they have bought a replacement.
What a fantastic find. Thanks for that.Found it -
A Day in the Life of Sheffield United Boss Chris Wilder on Transfer Deadline Day
The clock is ticking. Time is running out. After a rare lull on a frenetic day of transfer activity at Sheffield United's Shirecliffe training base, now enveloped by the South Yorkshire night, there is suddenly a chink of light...bleacherreport.com
I still don't understand why people aren't getting this, most clubs are not releasing players until they have bought a replacement.
This chain is causing a massive bottle neck in the market that will only shift at the end of the window. That we'll be over a month into the season is no clubs fault, it's just stupid planning by the FA/EFL.
Even a stopped clock........If he says the same thing at his presser over the next three weeks , he’s gonna be right at least one time!!
Except Boro who sold Tavernier without a replacementI still don't understand why people aren't getting this, most clubs are not releasing players until they have bought a replacement.

Selling is different to loaningExcept Boro who sold Tavernier without a replacement
So why did we release all our players before bringing in suitable replacements leaving our squad as thick as a fag paper?
Are these serious questions - these were our best players with big money being offered + the player wanted to leave us.Except Boro who sold Tavernier without a replacement
Tav wanted to go, I expect Bournemouth said it’s now or neverExcept Boro who sold Tavernier without a replacement

We weren't in a position to hold onto them waiting for a replacement as the money was too big for us to put on hold. Supply & Demand
Totally different than wanting to bring in Fulham/Southampton 2/3rd choice strikers in on loan when they can choose when to release them.
