I knows it’s just another game of championship football.

It feels massive though, local derby, 2 teams with the intention of finishing in play offs, ex Boro legend managing Sunderland. Players who have played for both clubs. Live on Sky.

Most importantly a chance for us to try and extend that gap between 7th place and where we are and keep picking up points.

Come on the Boro. Can’t bloody wait.
 
Hilarious the amount of Sunderland fans who profess it’s not a derby and they don’t care about us. Why point it out all the time then?
Huge games coming thick and fast as we’re now in the playoff zone. All games are big which is exciting as a Boro fan. Huge game next week with the derby element thrown in too and Mogga at the helm for them.
 
I'm glad we've got Carrick. He is very calm which will be good next week.

I'm amazed Dael Fry has never played there. Should be a good game for him.

They're expecting their biggest crowd of the season for a Sunday noon kick off , live on sky.
But they didn't care about Boro.

Yeah there will be plenty of Boro and Sunderland fans that work together, so a bit of banter will be had after the game.
I just go along with its not a “proper” derby like Liverpool v Everton, rangers v Celtic Man U v Man City
then remind them that Newcastle v Sunderland isn’t a “ proper” derby 👍🏻

Yes that’s what I thought.

Other opinion from them is it carrick or it just a new manager bounce.
 
We have to get promoted this year they can afford to stay another season in championship as they only came up this year we have wasted enough time down here now so keep on praying we will do it this year.

Depends on the size of their wage bill and their resources doesn’t it? . I don’t think time in the division is really a factor about necessity to get promoted in their circumstances.
 
Massive game for both of us, 1200 KO on the TV. Big rivalry between workmates.

probably turn out to be a bore draw 0-0 with both teams being cautious. Hope we blast them mind, especially with Makem cousins.

Don’t think they have a huge wage bill tbh. Most of their signings have been youngsters with the hope of selling them on. I reckon they have one of the lowest wage bills in the league tbh
 
2-0 for me, a McGree special and ex black cat Watmore off the bench to finish it off to rub salt in the wound.
 
Look at yesterday if Chuba puts that chance away early in the game then it’s a different game I reckon we’d have gone to get three or four. It’s fine margins.
