I actually lived in Poz for about 13 years and it’s a fantastic city. The atmosphere in the stadium is incredible and I was lucky enough to blag a ticket for the Ireland - Italy game when Poznan was picked to host games for the Euros.
I go back and visit Poz every year to catch up with mates...
Very true, I always tried to kid myself that I liked the debut LP but it was a huge disappointment.
Live they were a force to be reckon with and saw them a couple of times and remember speaking to the singer Ross about the single they released after the LP called ‘Killing Position’. The band...
I’ve always tended to prefer EPs or mini-albums over full length LPs. Something a bit cooler about them and easier to digest. I’ll start off with two obvious ones..
The Clash - ‘The Cost of Living’
iDLEWiLD - ‘Captain’
Cheers to those who give me a bit of an insight.
Usual suspect small town and someone else gave their standard derogatory ‘laughing’ face reply as they weren’t able to answer! But I appreciate those with some knowledge who were were able to help out - ta 👍 👍
The reason I say this is I'm a huge punk fan (mainly early British punk but also the UK82 punk).
I've just started collecting vinyl again and have limited it to ska and punk. I've got a few Clash / GBH / UK Subs records etc. I'd love a copy of 'Sandinista!' in my collection.
I came back from...
I've only listened to it all the way through once. I tend to delve in and out on Spotify.
Frazza, if you still have the LP and you're looking to offload it, I'll happily take it off your hands :)
Frazer Lambert is brilliant… and class that you got to ended up teaming up with him too!
Big fan of Dan Donnelly too. He’s got some stories to tell and has contributed to the zine with a few columns too which is great.
Yeah, mine is free 😆
I actually used to make a very similar zine in Poland (POINT BLANK POZNAN) which was about 12 pages and black and white. You could barely read it and it cost about £20 to make. Happy days 👍
Cheers chaps.
Always nice to have positive feedback. We have a class music scene up here in Teesside and I sometimes think a lot of folk don’t realise or appreciate it.
Yep, that’s right folks - edition #37 of POINT BLANK TEESSIDE local music zine is now available to view online or download as a PDF.
With a whopping 44 pages (our biggest so far) there’s more than ever to pour over including interviews, gig reviews and columns and comments from those involved...
I’ve been away on holiday this week and have enjoyed having this thread to refer back and forth to.
I wasn’t actually aware there were so many folk on here that held the LP with as much high regard that I did. I honestly thought I was a bit of an outsider 😂
I can’t wait to get home and listen...
