Morgan Rogers

He was very poor today. It just highlighted how much we miss Akpom - the way he held the ball up or controlled the ball, turned with it and brought others into play was vital to the way we played.

So many moves seemed to break down whenever Rogers got on the ball. They could read what he was wanting to do so easily.
 
I don't usually indulge in this sort of thing but I feel I'm on safe ground when I say Rogers and Silvera are terrible and should be nowhere near the first team. We have other players available who are at least vaguely competent footballers because those 2 are definitely not.🙁
 
he needs too much time on the ball , he can create chances but i am not sure he can play in the central areas of the pitch

I think he lacks mobility to play wide to be honest, Carrick likes mobility down the wings and rogers does not have it and he wil ony get slower,
hes a big lad at 6ft 4" and you can see hes not a naturally athlete in terms of explosive pace or mobility

He needs to stop trying to dribble past players and play more as a team player thats for sure

McGree should be in the team ko doubt. But Rogers is a kid and Crete as one of our best two opportunities today despite having a poor game. He’s done well in previous matches

Akpom wouldn’t have made any difference today. The team have zero confidence, we have very little quality and Carrick is too stubborn to try something different. We are relegation fodder, and it’s a horrible feeling of de ja vu.

I agree we've had a terrible window and been let down by recruitment. But Carrick needs to try and work with what he's got. What we are doing isn't working he needs to change it up. I really want it to work for Carrick. He's a likeable guy and got a lot about him but he's not immune from criticism.

Rogers was horrific first half. Bordering on offensive that he wears the #10.
Engel very poor, they got in behind him so many times, and he was weak for their second.
Their striker had a field day making runs across Lenihan and Fry, neither could decide who should pick him up.

Liked O’Brien’s energy when he came on, hopefully he’s ready to start now.
Jones looked decent at times, no idea why he came off.

I don’t disagree he looks naive lost and yes at the minute clueless he’s in sackable form. The same type of record to wilder it’s worrying and he has to be held accountable but he’s young he had us playing some absolutely beautiful stuff and he was the messiah only a few months ago. He’s lost 60 plus league goals for silvera latthe and rogers… 3 of them combined won’t bag as many as archer who played for half a season. It’s the same problem every manger here faces let down my muppets up above. It’s no coincidence every gaffer here fails since 2009 bar one who ultimately got sacked
 
I see talent with Rogers. But I don’t see someone who should be playing no 10 for us week in week out when we are struggling. He tried the same trick 6 times in that first half and it never worked once. He needs to be a sub and make some impactful performances from the bench and earn his way in the team and hopefully we start to pick up some results. If we keep persisting with him and Silvera whilst we are so flaky the poor run is just going to continue.

He made a lot of mistakes today but I'm going on and on like a stuck record here. Sets up two extremely good chances, absolutely not his fault players don't finish those chances. If they do we probably win, and we have an entirely different perspective on him from today.
