If we do reach the point where its 1 PL season in 16, that's not really 'the norm' in fairness. At least not in most of our lifetimes. We used to be a yoyo club, before we were an established PL club. Now we're neither. The 80s was pretty bad. But we still went.
Its been up and down all my life. We had a good run in the prem and won a cup but then it was back to the norm.
It is totally understandable that people stop buying season tickets. Its not like we are selling out every home game, is it?
When I was in my 20s, the match was the centre of my social life and I would have bought a season ticket for the Vauxhall Conference if I had to.
It really bothered me when I gave up my ST but it had been coming for years.
