Steve Wright DJ - RIP

Proper shock, was a real part of my childhood with Steve Wright in the Afternoon. As I got older his banter used to drive me insane but still recognised what a great DJ he was and he inspired a whole generation as a number of DJs and comedians often stated how they got in to doing what they did in part due to Steve Wright.

RIP Steve and for old times sake, love the show!!!
 
Awww he was my favourite on Radio 1 in the early 80s.
So funny and innovative. It's the only time when I've listened to a Radio program every day over what was on TV .
RIP Steve.

Real shock. A bit of a trailblazer for the 90s DJs such as Moyles etc…..Sid the Manager, Mr Mad & Mr Angry go with him.

Spent many a Friday afternoon driving home for the weekend listening to Steve’s show with all the different characters.

Very sad news. An absolute legend of his profession.

I had Radio 2 on for my drive home from work tonight and Sara Cox was struggling to hold it together. The poor lady who did the traffic report could barely speak and kept breaking down in tears whilst trying to do her report.

A very emotional listen but fair play to them for soldiering on having just had the shocking news of the loss of a friend.
