Bit of fun... can you identify this player?

Depends how much editing they do to remove a likeness and make it more vague cause for some reason my first thought based on the pose was Wayne Rooney, but obviously doesn’t match the likeness for the head.
 
The ball is a mitre delta. Not used in the premier league since 2000, but also one with red chevrons hasn't been used in the championship.

Looks like a mitre delta 1000. Used in the top flight in the late 80s to mid 90s........

Yeah, I thought late 90's top flight, the ball was the only thing datable.
 
Maybe this era for kit? White shorts, red socks with white band. Shirt could even have the adidas stripes obscured? But the white ‘belly’ band not present in the photo, unless obscured by the arm.
Also his hair in this pic matches the photo -

Yeah I was trying to work out what ball it was as a good indicator but couldn’t find any useful info!

As mentioned above it could be a cup ball
