You see this a lot on Twitter: “The majority of the country support Anderson” etc etc. Sadly it’s all BS. The majority of the country are centre leaning and they think the likes of Anderson and parties like Reform are unelectable.
It is extremely arrogant to presume that the majority of the country are right wing when the evidence points to the opposite.
The funny thing is that the Twitter accounts that spout this rubbish have a small following. If they had millions of followers then they might have a point, but they don’t.
All roads lead back to Brexit.
Idiots like Anderson, Braverman, Truss etc look at the brexit vote and Johnson's brexit related landslide GE victory and assume those things happened because most people have right wing or far right ideology. They keep thinking the trick can be repeated and when it doesn't work they only assume they've not gone far enough.
The flaw in their logic though, is although there was an element of racism to the brexit vote, there were many many other reasons people voted for it: to give Cameron a kicking, because they were fed up and wanted a change, any change. Because they believed the lies about it making us better off or the ridiculous spin around "sovereignty".
It's true that most racists voted for brexit, but it's a minority of leave voters who are racist. Even concerns about immigration aren't necessarily racist. I think most who voted for brexit were badly informed and believed the lies. Not because they're all neo nazis. Plus of course it was barely above 50% who voted for it anyway.
So way way off a majority who think like 30p Lee does.
Same for Johnson. People didn't vote him because he's a racist. Most voted for him because they didn't realise he's a racist, he made promises he couldn't keep and because he's not Jeremy Corbyn.
