And I thought Boundary Park was Cold!

Spent the whole time reading that article trying to find out how many if any fans who attended the game actually had to get fingers or toes amputated, and this was the only line about it:

'The hospital said 12 patients needed amputations because of the weather on the day, although not all had been at the game and some had been working outside in the extreme cold.' So it could literally be 1 out of a crowd of 71,492.

Ah YT it’s not the first example of the media losing it over the weather and adding dramatic subtext. According to the Telegraph last week all the England fans were going to suffer hyperthermia at the cricket in Dharamsala but it turned out very pleasant indeed.

At Valley Parade in the PL, I had the last seat at the end of the stand. The strand had no screening at the end.

I had to clear 3-4 inches of snow off my seat before I could use it.🥶🥶🥶

I'm sure the riverside will be up there for a lot of away supporters, it can be bloody baltic with the wind whipping off the sea in your face going to the match

I remember being at Victoria Park for the save our club day when Pools played Wrexham and I've never felt cold like it at a football stadium.

Been to both Grimsby and Oldham (and was at the aforementioned Boundary Park away game on New Year's Day 1988) but the coldest I have ever been at a footy match was either Blackburn away in December 1995 or some long forgotten 1980s Anglo-Italian Cup game at Ayresome with around 4,000 other frozen fans (Ancona maybe?)

The coldest I have ever been at a sporting event however has to be a Chicago Bears game where it rained/sleeted/snowed throughout and I was drenched as well as frozen as there are no roofs on the majority of the stands at Soldier Field.
