Glastonbury 2024

More will be added. I’m sure James and Johnny Marr pretty much self confirmed and they aren’t on the list.

It’s the first time I’ve never heard of one of the headliners and the first time I can remember that I wouldn’t watch at least one headline act (if I was going) but there is plenty of other acts I’d like to see and there’s loads of other stuff to do if the music doesn’t take your fancy at any particular point in time.

Can't go this year anyway (combination of circumstances) but I know that if I did go I'd still have a great time. Two of my favourite stages are yet to announce (Avalon and Acoustic) and there's already enough on that announcement to justify the ticket price. According to a little digging the reason that they are late with this first release is that they have been messed around by Madonna who was supposed to be headlining and has recently decided to drop out (you may recall Her Madgeness wearing a "don't talk to me I'm tired" sign at the Oscars) I guess that Coldplay have once again stepped up to fill.

Why didn’t they just get the Foo Fighters?

From that main stage list the is only LCD Soundsystem, Keane, PJ Harvey, Cyndi Lauper, and Paul Heaton that I would go to see if they were playing Town Hall. The others I wouldn't watch if they were playing in my garden. As said there is some good bands elsewhere but even then I thought not too many. Certainly not enough to warrant prices and distance to travel.

EDIT: just noticed someone above saying this is first release so hopefully things will improve.

I'm missing this year due to personal circumstances, but I'd be disappointed to have paid what they're asking to get that line up in return. Having said that, i know how good that place is without or without a great line up so swigs and roundabouts.

There's certainly been better line ups, however, still lots of good acts on that bill, I'd probably steer well clear of the pyramid stage headliners this year and just go there to see Paul Heaton, Michael Kiwanuka, Shania and Cyndi Lauper, not really interested in anyone else playing main stage. Possibly Olivia Dean who is quite good

I know it's just me getting older but this is the first time the Pyramid headliners include someone I have never even heard of. The first time I had heard of SZA was in the list of Brit award winners last week. Even Dua Lipa I know of but I couldn't name a single song.

In fact of the entire Pyramid stage lineup there are only 3 acts where I have ever owned their music.

For anyone who IS going and needs a break from the Radio Two line-up, make a beeline for Mdou Moctar - he will get you screaming with joy.

First time at Glastonbury but a bit underwhelmed by the line up. Hope they add a few Stella acts in the next couple of weeks

Idles and pj Harvey I’m already going to see in Margate and Crystal Palace. So that leaves kiwanuka, jungle, the breeders, fontaines D.C., Heaton….then I don’t really know many of the others or care for them

Jesus this is diabolical... I love Coldplay, but again...really?

Strikes me as a plan C or even D after the plan A and plan B said no
