How can the airport keep going when there only about 20 flights a week? Newcastle more than that number in a single morning.

89 tonnes of frieght a week isn't going to do that though.Because they are slowly turning around other aviation related activities.
Newcastle kept going when they ran up massive debts until an investment firm bought them out.
What are the odds I wonder?Btw this new contract starts in June.
Ben's obviously incredibly confident he'll be re-elected, it would seem.
That sounds like the conduct of someone who doesn't give a s**t. He turned up an hour late and started playing with his phone? And meanwhile, North East Bylines' Chief Crab Killer Correspondent is less than impressed with Ben Houchen's conduct

I checked a couple of weeks ago and Houchen was nearly 3 to 1 on to win. Checked today and both McEwan and Houchen are pretty much evens, with McEwan a very slight favourite. What are the odds I wonder?
So another revenue stream won’t help increase the turnover at the airport? This is what the airport needs, same as Draken etc.89 tonnes of frieght a week isn't going to do that though.
So your argument is the tax payer should continue ploughing millions in until a private firm buys it for peanuts? FFS.Because they are slowly turning around other aviation related activities.

The airport lost about 6 million pounds last year. A maximum of 89 tonnes a week of freight is pretty much an irrelevance. So another revenue stream won’t help increase the turnover at the airport? This is what the airport needs, same as Draken etc.

this. It’s got nothing to do with the 89 tonnes of freight that’s all fedex’s but rent for another hanger plus landings fees are a plus along with been able to attract a major company to the airport. Hopefully other companies with see that and will also invest in the airports future
BenT announced the weight in imperial lb so it was a much bigger figure. Imperial lb (or tons) are *never* used in this country as commercial freight weights and have not been since before BenT was spawned. He would have announced the weight in troy ounces if he thought he could have got away with it. Misleading and misinforming the plebs as usual.89 tonnes of frieght a week isn't going to do that though.
Landing fees yes but don’t be surprised if the rent is being paid to Ben’s landowner pals. It’s got nothing to do with the 89 tonnes of freight that’s all fedex’s but rent for another hanger plus landings fees are a plus along with been able to attract a major company to the airport. But don’t the airport own the land and units?Landing fees yes but don’t be surprised if the rent is being paid to Ben’s landowner pals.
