šŸ™Cut your energy bills nearly in half with Octopus Tracker

This is me v tracker, we have 2 x EVā€™s but we dont do many miles and donā€™t really load shift and I WFH when energy costs more. Someone with an EV and/or load shifting could do even better if they were up for that.

This is me V price cap, ludicrous.

you'd probably want to compare to the dec 23 tracker now, with your usage agile probably saves more vs that but data will only start in dec when it was launched

Good point, I thought that was self updating but evidently not!

Can't really grumble powering/ fuelling two cars and a whole house and WFH for a month, for Ā£100 like.

Is this the Octopus Compare App mate? Is that the premium version and have you found it worth the money?

I only use it for the comparisons like that personally. You can just do the monthly sub and cancel it once you've taken a look. Its good for comparisons but I find other aps give you more useful data on the day to day. You can see weekly and monthly I think without premium but the year view is premium if I recall correctly

Which app can I use to see daily electricity and gas use for December tracker?
As mentioned previously only electricity shows now on the Octopus app, android version needed.
Appreciate help

Agile is currently working out a bit cheaper for me at the minute compared to Dec 23 tracker, which is surprising as I work from home and have young kids so 4pm-7pm would normally be heavy usage.

However, there are huge savings to be had compared to the price cap tariff even on the December tracker!

We changed to agile a day ago, got a bloke fitting an EV charger now.

Agile since the December switchover has been just under a tenner cheaper, but with some very minor load shifting of washing machine and dishwasher plus the EV, it should work out a lot cheaper for us, but other than washer & dishwasher we won't be doing anything different between 5-7 when it is lost expensive

Worth checking your own usage with octopus compare though

The forecasts for the next quarter show another drop - unit rates dropping to 20.87 elec and 5.02 gas so still some savings on tracker but unless wholesale drops further, it won't be as exciting as it used to be, but every quid helps I suppose! It's they due to go up again slightly in winter back to 22p a unit and 5.10 gas with 2p/1p added to standing charges.

So in q3 forecast to be Ā£1462 for average user, which is a drop from Ā£1690 - a drop of Ā£228, then q4 Ā£1521 - a rise of Ā£59. Things can change between now and then though

Tracker has been fantastic over the last 18 months and saved me a small fortune.
If it's done it's job then great, smaller savings ahead is OK but looking at the current wholesale price savings can still be made.

My agile and tracker are currently coming in almost identically for the first 3 months of the year. I haven't tried load shifting, but it may be the case that with a bit of extra effort I could save a bit more.

I dont trust my family to stick to a plan on agile though.

Yeah if you can't keep stuff out of that 4-7pm bracket it can be pricy but looking at our use it balances out a fair bit esp as I work from home

How secure is the Octopus Compare App? I,ve downloaded it but it's asking for my API number. Octopus warning me not to share it.

We initially signed on for agile but as a typical couple with no kids, no dishwasher and no electric car, we couldn't shift much load out of the 4-7 peak so we switched to tracker. Averages about 2.5p per unit cheaper on tracker than it did on agile.

Not to share it publicly - as in don't post it anywhere, it's fairly common to need to enter api details into apps and it's a well trusted app so I wouldn't worry about octo aid, octopus compare etc but don't post it on your Facebook
