New England kit

While I do think they may have made an error commercially playing with the St George cross šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ , itā€™s funny watching all the tufton street grifters have a melt down in twitter and joey Barton šŸ˜‚View attachment 73745
Letā€™s all forgot 14 years of public services being decimated, the disastrous Brexit deal, a badly managed pandemic bordering on negligence and focus on something as pointless as a multicoloured cross on a football shirt.

Of course, that is exactly what the government and right wing politicians want you to do.

There must be a market for it, otherwise they wouldnā€™t make them available.

Whatā€™s the difference between a pro and non-pro kit? Just a marketing strategy to squeeze more money out of people?

At the end of the day i guess you could argue itā€™s a choice whether you buy one, so they can price them how they like.

But there is a consumer desire created for many who cannot or will not pay extortionate prices, so unfortunately people will buy copies.

If they were priced reasonably then there would be little demand for the black market.

The pro kit is a different material, so the pattern you see on the back of the shirt above is not on the stadium kit. Crucially Nike capitalise on the fact that the stadium shirt is not what the players wear on the pitch.

You said they're made in China, so it's okay to buy a fake from China, insinuating that they're probably made in the same factory as the legitimate ones (which is a theory that has often been debunked.)

But hey, don't let me stop you from giving actual criminals money.
Yep- fake goods are often closely link with gangs involved in people trafficking, drugs, and anything else going. Id rather just do without than go down that route

I don't think there's any commercial impact, surely nobody cares apart from some right wing political loons desperate to look for something "woke"

Sorry, the kit sizing. So I take a L/XL normally, ordered a XXL Bayern Munich away and could barely get it on, ordered the same for a PSG Fourth shirt and that was even tighter. That's why I make reference to the player jersey as I imagine the cut of the shirt is slightly more athletic but I've got a PSG authentic and XL is generous. So if I were to order an England 'Player' shirt - the Ā£125 one from China, I'd be XXXL or possibly even XXXXL. I'm only 15 and a half stone with athletic build just tall. Never thought of the size chart so I'm probably part to blame.

Obviously the Boro shirts don't have that issue as thankfully we only do one shirt.
Having lived in Asia, this is on the money. Sizing there is, well, for Asian people.

Hate the kit - the neck sucks, as others have said, and the purple number, nah - dull colour, with some weird side panel that is just too jazzy for national team kit. Like this year's Boro home shirt: wrong, wrong, wrong.

I know this will be unpopular and itā€™s a bit gammony but Iā€™m with Keir Starmer on this one.

For a design thatā€™s supposed to ā€œinspire unity and togethernessā€, messing about with a national flag with colours that will trigger some people isnā€™t going to inspire much unity.

Itā€™s stupid and I rolled my eyes a bit. Just put the flag on and let people be proud of that. Itā€™s supposed to represent England, not a social cause. And plays to my long-held argument that forced inclusivity like this actually excludes people who might not want to get on board with it, but for some reason some peopleā€™s inclusivity is more important than others.

An interesting thought experiment is if the French kit recoloured the tricolore red, green, yellow and black to honour the west/north African heritage of half their team - people would go beserk and Nike would be seen as taking a proper liberty.

Anyway thatā€™s my unpopular opinion for the day šŸ˜

It's just a flag on a football top, politicians dont need to be talking about it

Re the George Cross colour changes - whilst Iā€™ve raised an eye brow and moved on, I do think they should not have messed about with the nations flag. I canā€™t imagine any other nation reworking the colours on their national flag. Iā€™m not going to froth at the mouth over it though.

Playing devils advocate but by recolouring the cross does that not make it a flag anymoreā€¦surely itā€™s just a multicolour cross on a Shirt now šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

As for the French bit aboveā€¦ there would be riots Iā€™m sure

I really donā€™t mind it to be honestā€¦ but I can understand why some would be upset by it

Messing about with the George cross has had the desired intention - everyone is talking about it and itā€™s generated lots of free publicity.

England's flag is the only one to have a cross of that style as the only feature of any widely recognised country in the world.

There are dozens upon dozens of tricolours for national flags, the colours are essential to making it recognisably French.

The only national flags that are even the same style of cross which central to the design is Georgia's and there's no mixing them up because of the 4 additional crosses around it, and Northern Ireland's unofficial Ulster Banner with the red right hand in the centre is distinctive, regardless of colours, and that's not an official flag.

The Nordic style crosses are similar, but they're still totally distinct in design to the St. George's Cross.

If they were all black and white, or even all rainbow coloured, anyone with a clue would be able to easily pick the top one as the England flag.

Starmer is definitely getting smarter.
