New England kit

It’s nothing to do with that you can’t change the colours of the nations flag you just can’t

As I said slot of service people have died for that flag as I said they defeated the other one you posted.

The fact is Nike would not do it in the us so why do it here
Of course you can. As I posted earlier, Peter Saville did it in 2011 and nobody batted an eyelid.

Nike wouldn't do it in the US because in the US people have guns. Like I said, they did try it with the Betsy Ross flag but withdrew it after people rightfully pointed out its ties to slavery.

This doesn’t happen in Paris or Edinburgh either.

They are taking the p… for marketing reasons it would not happen in the US.

Somethings should not be forsale something should be above PR.

They're what?

It's a design choice to showcase diversity in the country.

That's what they're saying and you have to take it at face value. We should indeed be proud of our diverse history but some people sadly aren't.

I’m just wondering how it’s possible for the England fans at Wembley tomorrow to boo the flag on the back of the shirt!? 🤣

Perhaps that’s what they’ll blame the Jordan Henderson reception on.

what a load of pr rubbish it’s a flag it’s international football you don’t change the flag.

They're not changing the flag, they've put a stylised St George’s Cross on the back of the England top.
It's not a flag.

The England players will still be walking out to the standard England flag tomorrow.

I’ll bite - the Saville shirt is really cool, it’s tiny stitching details on the back and they look beautiful when you get close enough to see them. The colours are just random pop art colours, they don’t have a cultural meaning.

The design on the back of the new shirt does have a cultural meaning, it’s an amalgam of the trans flag and the bi flag.

I mean, I went to Pride this year, I know this sounds like fake ally-apologetic bull**** but I couldn’t be more proud and supportive of my friends in the gay community. There’s very little overlap between people who want to show pride for their sexuality and people who buy England shirts - and putting that on an England shirt, which very very few England fans have asked for, is excluding people (like me) who feel like that’s not their battle or just don’t want to wear that symbol because they thought they were buying a symbol of the England football team.

If they want to do it, do it as a limited edition and see how much support it actually has. But don’t put people off what is a very cool kit apart from the divisive flag on the back, let them take pride in England itself.

The most controversial thing about this is it has highlighted how much better that 2011 shirt was and why didn't I get that at the time? I bet I baulked at buying a shirt for £50. Look at us now! £124.99 and people are frothing about a little detail on the back of the neck.

Following on from not producing a supporters shirt for the best womens keeper in the world, just goes to show that Nike and the FA don't have a clue.

It's not an outrage but just a poor decision made by people with little idea about football.
