New England kit

I’ll bite - the Saville shirt is really cool, it’s tiny stitching details on the back and they look beautiful when you get close enough to see them. The colours are just random pop art colours, they don’t have a cultural meaning.

The design on the back of the new shirt does have a cultural meaning, it’s an amalgam of the trans flag and the bi flag.

I mean, I went to Pride this year, I know this sounds like fake ally-apologetic bull**** but I couldn’t be more proud and supportive of my friends in the gay community. There’s very little overlap between people who want to show pride for their sexuality and people who buy England shirts - and putting that on an England shirt, which very very few England fans have asked for, is excluding people (like me) who feel like that’s not their battle or just don’t want to wear that symbol because they thought they were buying a symbol of the England football team.

If they want to do it, do it as a limited edition and see how much support it actually has. But don’t put people off what is a very cool kit apart from the divisive flag on the back, let them take pride in England itself.
Yeah, not true.

There is one good good point that I do agree with and that Nike is US company and there is absolutely no way they’d even entertain the idea of even considering messing around with the colours of the US flag it just wouldn’t happen.

So why do they think can alter ours.
The FA must have sanctioned it.

Maybe so but Nike are not doing that in the us strip

I’m not a fan of their shirts esp the away ones all this blue purple guff

Eng has an away colour it’s red

Btw I haven’t bought an shirt since Umbro
in 1966 england were at home and wore red .... also if you didn't buy one since god knows when, why do you even care?

Re the George Cross colour changes - whilst I’ve raised an eye brow and moved on, I do think they should not have messed about with the nations flag. I can’t imagine any other nation reworking the colours on their national flag. I’m not going to froth at the mouth over it though.
They haven't messed about with the nations flag though have they? It's a tiny detail on a football top

Why do they always make the star the same colour as the shirt instead of it being gold like every other country who’s won the World Cup? It’s like they’re ashamed. It took a campaign to get it on there in the first place if I remember. Might have been ran by Tim Lovejoy when he was in Soccer AM.

Now this is my bug bear I’ve said this for years. They way we’ve shunned our star ⭐
We even moved it to the shoulder as well.

Look at how France did it as they had that star on that shirt on day 1

I think it's because as every tournament goes by only having the one on there feels a bit more embarrassing.

“Rally round the flag boys, rally round the flag!”

Non-issue really! It’s a design element.

When it was launched, I was ambivalent about Stella McCartney’s reworking of the Union flag on the TeamGB kit for London 2012.

Then people started complaining, and that made me love it.

TBH I get more angry about England wearing white shorts with their white shirts! Now that is a betrayal of heritage, right there!! 🤣
