New England kit

I’ll bite - the Saville shirt is really cool, it’s tiny stitching details on the back and they look beautiful when you get close enough to see them. The colours are just random pop art colours, they don’t have a cultural meaning.

The design on the back of the new shirt does have a cultural meaning, it’s an amalgam of the trans flag and the bi flag.

I mean, I went to Pride this year, I know this sounds like fake ally-apologetic bull**** but I couldn’t be more proud and supportive of my friends in the gay community. There’s very little overlap between people who want to show pride for their sexuality and people who buy England shirts - and putting that on an England shirt, which very very few England fans have asked for, is excluding people (like me) who feel like that’s not their battle or just don’t want to wear that symbol because they thought they were buying a symbol of the England football team.

If they want to do it, do it as a limited edition and see how much support it actually has. But don’t put people off what is a very cool kit apart from the divisive flag on the back, let them take pride in England itself.

£1.50 for the Thai factory per shirt. How many thousands of percent profit is that? No wonder they want gammons to cry over a flag rather than burn venture capitalists in a huge pit.
It looks like you started this whole nonstandard-colour George Cross flag hullabaloo.

England's flag is the only one to have a cross of that style as the only feature of any widely recognised country in the world.

There are dozens upon dozens of tricolours for national flags, the colours are essential to making it recognisably French.

The only national flags that are even the same style of cross which central to the design is Georgia's and there's no mixing them up because of the 4 additional crosses around it, and Northern Ireland's unofficial Ulster Banner with the red right hand in the centre is distinctive, regardless of colours, and that's not an official flag.

The Nordic style crosses are similar, but they're still totally distinct in design to the St. George's Cross.

If they were all black and white, or even all rainbow coloured, anyone with a clue would be able to easily pick the top one as the England flag.
The Union Flag has been represented in lots of different colours and is still instantly recognisable as well.
Doesn't seem to bother anyone.
Whether it is designed into a mini's rear lights, or on pieces of art. I've got a fancy pants spice rack and the doors incorporate a wooden one.
Don't some of the armed forces and certain police uniforms incorporate a monochrome Union Flag?

They're what?

It's a design choice to showcase diversity in the country.

That's what they're saying and you have to take it at face value. We should indeed be proud of our diverse history but some people sadly aren't.
Agree with this 100% also love the way it’s given Nike a tonne of free viral advertising from the usual right wing mouthpieces. Very clever branding

That's obviously boIIocks as well for example football is full of lesbians, players, staff & fans, why wouldn't they wear an England shirt while the team are playing in the world cup or european championships?

I have no issue with the shirt aside from this but I do think there are some things that should never change we are England that’s our flag.

The away shirt though is hideous.

The colour of the flag has been altered as part of the design loads of times though.

If people have an issue with the colour of the flag being changed, regardless of how it's incorporated into the design then why haven't people been annoyed by it before?

The England away kit from 1997 had a burgundy cross with a red background and we've had multiple keeper kits that altered the colour of the flag as part of their design as well.

Regardless of how they're incorporated into the design, they've all changed the colour of the flag. If anything this time it's much more subtle with a small detail on the back of the collar rather than being emblazoned across the whole shirt. What's different about this one compared to shirts from previous years?

Jesus man, this ain't going away. So a couple of unreliable news outlets are suggesting that Harvey Elliott has chosen to hide the St George's cross by lifting the collar up on his shirt during the u-21's game. 🤷‍♂️.
