Your England Team vs Brazil?

It was an odd choice of game for England. Yes a quality name to get the fans in but we're warming up for the Euro's, we're not going to be facing that style of opposition
The Belgium game will be more of a realistic idea of opposition, which will be much more helpful to see how the fringe players can do

You do realise that Southgate has deliberately changed England’s tactics in the 7 years he’s been in charge.

It was him who went 3-5-2 in Russia mindful that England had been terrible at ball retention for a long time. It was one of the major issues at tournaments. England’s passing was shocking compared to almost everyone.

Since then he’s gone 4-3-3 in recognition of England having quality wide attacking players. He has now switched to 4-2-3-1 in recognition of Bellingham.

As a Manager he’s created identity and made England mean something again. Not sure how much more he can do.

As I said earlier. Once the game starts it’s over to the players. Coaches and Managers can’t play the game for them.
 
Just caught up on the highlights. Taking nothing away from Brazil who deserved to win the game couldn't you make a case for saying that the winner was offside? The eventual goalscorer was in a offside position when the ball was put through but whilst he wasn't interfering, certainly took advantage of the offside position to put the ball in the net?

I wouldn't want to go back to any player in an offside position when the ball is played means the goal is disallowed. It would lead to goals being disallowed for a player on the far side being off when the actual play is through the centre, and vice versa.

He reminds me of Mo Salah does Foden. Plays amazing in the PL but when playing for their countries they look like a Sunday League player.
 
He's fallen very lucky with the pool of players at his disposal.
Done a decent job, however not great. This squad should be challenging for every major tournament, yet his record against teams that have been ranked in the top 10 is woeful.
Something like 4 wins in 25 games, I heard someone quote the other day.

Semi final/Quarter final of last 2 world cups and final of last Euro's is challenging for major tournaments isn't it :whistle:

Like I said done a decent job but when we played any team of any class, can't get the job done.
Croatia, Italy and France all really disappointing not only results but also performance.
All be it France wasn't anywhere near as bad as the other 2.
 
Crackers when some posters see themselves as message board celebrities like. Can’t have a lot happening in the 3D world I suppose
