New club crest coming!

The football club definitely want lots of fan involvement this time around - I was emailed last night to stress this.

There will be lots of differences of opinion no doubt - do we go forward or look back to favourite designs. The process with the shirts starts about 18 months before they go on sale so the crest has to be selected as early as possible if it is to go on the anniversary shirts.
 
Has anyone declared it sh1t yet?

Or said it was a waste of money and they should keep the current badge and use the money saved to reduce the price of walk ups?!

if not, this place is slipping...

I think simple is the key, but not daft simple like Leeds. Maybe a nod to the past but with something 'new' to actually commemorate the anniversary.

If we're honest, the current badge isn't that bad its just that lots of us had a strong affiliation with the 1986 badge because of the era we had while we had it.

There is an old thread on here with numerous new designs , all I will say is
THE LION MUST BE RED
 
I do think the penny has finally dropped for the club over a lot of things. From personal experience the club are starting to listen to fans.

I actually hope it’s not just a lion this time. Which I guess has already exposed in a tiny way what the club is up against during this redesign!

I know! I know. It’s always been a lion. But hear me out. I’m not saying a lion shouldn’t be present somewhere. But this is an opportunity to design something that uniquely represents the club and the town. Something immediately identifiable when seen from afar. I don’t know exactly what that is but I’ve seen wonderful designs on here before and I am really hopeful that this process will finally give us a badge we can identify with (and be identified by).

The only thing that 'uniquely' identifies the town, however, is the Transporter Bridge and the Bongo.
