Latte Lath into double figures

I think he be better playing in a Stuani role or Forss role on the right. With a more focal point striker up top. But we have no other strikers so he has to play up top.

He took his goal well - his heading is possibly the strongest part of his game. And he's getting better at holding the ball up. Maybe second season he'll be that top-level striker I was hoping for. Maybe I won't keep wishing we had Simms or Armstrong or Bamford. We look much more dangerous with Coburn in the side, that's all I'll say, although yes, he's been ok since he came back from injury. He's not shocking, but Latte doesn't have anything that gets me excited.

Completely and utterly disagree- Coburn is a cart horse

He’s a far better layer than Simms, simms is poor

He's such an odd player, I'm confident he is going to add to his League tally before the season ends .. and I think worth keeping, see him trying to improve on the training pitch heading into next season. He could end up being a really important player if he tidies his game up.

I've never known a player do so much outstanding work to present himself with an easy scoring opportunity and then fluff it!! He is erratic in that way, the weird thing is though, he doesn't come across as a man with no confidence either ... hopefully, it's just ELL adjusting to the style of the Chazza albeit in a very Benny Hill way at times;@)

He will finish the season with a few more goals next to his name, I've no doubts about that which will be a great return for a first season in a new environment, and also a poor team ... let's be honest. But that is largely down to injuries and the like too .. it's just been one of those years. Meh.

I hope he is involved next season but will have cut the mistakes out and go on to get 20+ ... I don't see why not, especially if we are going to be making big efforts to improve the squad. The potential is there, we've heard opposition fans wax lyrical about him after games, I think there is more to come from the man

I think if Latte Lath would have had Akpom behind him in the number 10 role for a full season (and remained fit) then he would have hit 20 goals easily.

Our final ball and cutting edge in the final third this season has not been on the same level as last season and I think because of that it’s much harder for any number 9 playing that role.

All things considered, I think he has had a decent first season and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can deliver next year with hopefully more quality around him.

Assombalonga was a nailed on 15+ striker every season, but according to some he was to blame for everything wrong in the modern world.
That didn't seem quite right to me, so I looked it up. He got 16 and 15 in his first two seasons for us, then 11, then 5 in his last season. So not quite guaranteed 15+ every season, actually.

I'd said before he'd made his return from injury that I was confident he'd finish the season strongly.

We definitely need to sign a striker in the summer but they'll be competing with Lath for their place in the team.

Precisely this - we need someone with a bit better all round game than Lath has. Someone who can hold the ball, take pressure off the team, and bring others into play. You’ve got to look at the bigger picture folks.
I would argue with have this in Josh Coburn, the two of them could be a really effective partnership if played together but this means again a change of system.

When Josh plays we are so much better going forward because as you ha e indicated we have a focal point and IMO Josh finishing ability is yet to be questioned as he has also fed on scraps but just like his late goal against Rotherham at home which looked on side does have knack for putting the ball in the back of the net when he gets the service.

Josh is 21 was only playing in the lower league last year so was never supposed to be our focal point this year but he has 5 goals in 21 in an injury ravaged season, when he has played the team has performed really well, he has given some good defenders a really hard time, Leicester at home and Southampton come to mind, he has had to feed of scraps and initially in September/ October was looking really strong the problem is he has been playing with an injury since which has really disrupted his game, he will however in my opinion have a really good career a championship level as he has all the attributes.

Statistically coburn is below average in every department except headers won.

He also beats his xg.

In every other department when compared with strikers in the championship he is below average.

When we went on that run of seven wins in a row it coincided with Coburn coming into the side. We do indeed seem to play better with him in the side, at least when he is fully fit. It seems most have written him off now unfortunately - forgetting just how good he is before his injury problems

Coburn is fine and offers something different to LL. However, even with both in the squad we need at least 1 more striker as this season proved, as there is no guarantee they will stay fit and the championship is relentless for games. Lost count of the number of games we played this season without a recognised striker on the pitch.

Yep definitely at least one more but preferably two

Is that with cup goals? When talking 20 goals we usually mean league goals. He got 15, 14, 11, then 5. Averaged 11 a season which is poor. If Lath continues his scoring rate he will get 11 in his first season despite only playing half the matches. Lath is a far better forward than Britt was

I'd really like to see for at least one game a 5 3 2 with Lath and another striker up front like we started with him and Forss against Blackburn before the Forss injury.

I think him and Coburn could cause a load of trouble in an old school little and large combo.

But that is unlikely to happen.

Think there are possibilities that both Coburn or Lath could massively improve and become lethal or both could end up middling championship strikers. I'd be looking for one more striker in the summer, another with pace would be my preference.
