Tonight’s man of the match

If Greenwood’s penalty goes in he would be my player of the match. Barlaser gets that instead. Thought he was quality albeit against a really poor side.

Barlaser looked like the CM we thought we'd signed. If he can play like that in 7 out of 10 games we'd struggle to keep hold of him 😂

Howson is just class. Especially as he was playing CB. He's never let us down at CM/CB or RB. Just give him another year and be done with it 👍

I've already seen plenty giving Greenwood pelters over the pen. Yet thought he was superb and probably deserved a goal. You can't knock him for wanting to take.
 
Greenwood played very well against an awful sheff wed but still had a petulant booking, took a couple of shots instead of playing player in better positions and took the penalty off Lathe when he shouldn't have.
 
For all the stick Greenwood gets for being “lazy” or “anonymous”, I thought he was everywhere today.


He’s a proper radgey little mackem though, thought he was going to lose it a few times 😅

One criticism I have is that he needs to be stronger and look after the ball better, especially when he has his back to goal.

A word about the lino on the East Stand. Did he actually make any calls himself? Just about every throw in he watched for the ref to show which way to give and was often behind the play trying to call offsides.

Loves a through ball does Azaz. I remember saying that Azaz could help to get the best out of Lath because of this, but I'm beginning to think that Lath is just an instinctive finisher and is generally going to miss chances when put through on goal.

It's a shame because he's brilliant at getting in behind but he can't seem to finish when one on one with the keeper.

Feared the worst after his yellow card and he pulled out of one tackle at least 2nd half
 
I thought Howson bossed the midfirld today, but was also in the centre back position at times, He has one hell of an engine, and will always get a star in every game for me.

I think we played a hybrid between 4231 and 541 today.

Ayling played relatively narrow and attacked less (but still did). We live in a world where a perfectly symmetrical formation is not really a thing.

You have a fluid formation with options for flexing.

I think playing a more formal 541 for a few games has found us a more solid way to flex the 4231 system and we are overall less attacking. Which means we are conceding a lot less.
