This is a very hard thread to write

Speedy recovery, Viv. If you manage to get a window looking out onto Ladywell park me and the lad will be kicking a ball about wearing our Boro tops over the week. We'll be thinking of you mate.

Jeez mate, get well soon and listen to the Pro's. A good friend went through something very similar around 7 years ago and says that he is fitter now, than he was before it happened. Very best wishes for a full recovery.

Sorry to hear about this. Good that its been detected and you're in the best place. Take care.

The same thing happened to a friend of mine a year ago. He was fit as a fiddle. Not overweight, no issues with blood pressure or cholesterol, no family history, non-smoker and went to the gym a few times a week. He went to see his GP (feeling unwell with similar symptoms) and was told he was having a heart attack. Rushed into North Tees and operated on. He's had stents fitted

There is definitely something going on causing excess cardiovascular incidents and deaths. Reported in the Lancet and by BHF (not some tin hat wearer on X )

As someone in that particular age group I'm trying to be extra healthy. Lots of walking, weights and "clean' diet, but it is concerning.

I hope you are starting to feel better. If you are in James cook, happy to pop down and visit, if you need visitors

This is absolutely true - I said to my other half on New Year’s Day that I had a weird feeling about 2024. I wasn’t looking forward to it. I think I sensed something at work was brewing so there was stress there, and then that was proven correct when I was made redundant, but I’ve known for ages that something wasn’t right in my body.

It took me roughly one year to see my GP to speak about it. I described my symptoms and he said “did it feel like you were having a heart attack?” and I said yes it did and he replied “well you weren’t,” and proscribed me Propranolol. Which I never took because I knew it wasn’t ‘just’ anxiety. He was so brash and uninterested. I didn’t trust him. You just never think it will be this though.
You hear a lot of stories like this these days. Doctors not really taking the time and care that they should. I guess they are under great pressure but it’s not very reassuring, especially as us blokes often take too long to get checked up regardless.

Good luck to you mate. Once you get to the specialists you are taken seriously, you are in the best hands now.

Has anyone ever had a CT scan? I had one this afternoon. I thought it was finished but quickly realised it was just starting as my throat went warm and then my middle… and then I literally thought I’d shat myself as the warmth moved across my lower torso for a few seconds. There was genuine panic I’d have to be cleaned and changed.

Yep I had one when I had covid, they thought I had a blood clot on my lungs, injected a dye and put you through the machine, I thought I’d peed myself.
Incredible the images a CT scan takes of the inside of your body.

I hope the message finds you well Viv, and you’re on the way to a full recovery.
