Great support from Boro fans

Clarke. Howson. Ayling all very strong. O’Brian stronger as game goes on but ridiculous reaction to the “headbutt”.

Greenwood and Jones were shocking AGAIN. Appreciate Jones created the second goal but he was awful otherwise. Honestly left Ayling with lots of defending to do hence them bringing on Giles due to the space. Silvera has to start.

Lathe works so hard running the line. Credit to him.

Dieng at fault for second. Not seen first replay but I’ve noticed since Southampton away his long range passing is very poor. Needs work.

Overall a good night. Not result we wanted but enjoyable game. UTB.
 
Agree completely with your comments. Looks like we will be stopping in the most exciting League on the planet for another season. Looking forward to improving, especially with the start and hopefully we have less injuries. Well done to all the away support. 🙌👏
 
Ah, just with you talking about Jones then saying Silvera has to start. Apologies.

Agreed, Greenwood is shocking and is yet to muster up one good performance, but I’m not convinced Silvera is any better.
 
Greenwood or Silvera.... wow what a choice, heads or tails!!. both poor at Championship level.
Play Gilbert for the last four games, he can't be any worse.

Can't really rely on a 36 year old Howson. I know he is still performing well but he could drop off a cliff at any moment. Need to replace him this summer with the thought of phasing him out through next season.

Agree that Clarke and VDB look a really good partnership. Clarke has been a real rock at CB.
 
There was one moment last when their attacking was running through the middle. Clarke just stood his ground, braced himself, and won the ball. One of the best bits of one on one defending I've seen.

Rav had his usual 2 or 3 bits of world class defending too. I prefer not to mention them for worry of all the clubs watching him adding another million to what they are going to offer us to take him off our hands. He's a scarily good player. I don't even think of him as young. He's just good full stop.
 
I don’t think Jones is 100% fit, seems to lack a little of his usual pace.

Last few games there’s been a few foot races with opposing players that you’d expect him to win, but hasn’t.

Yes, that was my thought watching him against Swansea. I hope it is just his physical fitness and not any recurrence of his mental health problems but his confidence looks down too, didn't try to beat a man in either game. That said, got a decent assist for Azaz' goal, they worked the break well between the two of them.

Latte Lathe is a concern now for me. He is so good and so hard working that it is inevitable other clubs will be watching very closely.
