Sheffield United starting next season with a points deduction if relegated.

This whole recent points deduction thing is a joke. Teams getting promoted, teams winning titles and cups, teams avoiding relegation and years later some of them pick up tiny points deductions whilst others go unpunished. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Absolutely. The retrospective punishments when teams gain promotion and are then subsequently relegated are meaningless.
 
I might be wrong on this as memory is a bit hazy, but I'm sure they were under an embargo for none payment, whilst continuing to play the players they hadn't paid for, refusing to sell those that they could have, all because they didn't want to weaken the team??? I'm sure one of them was Brewster? and think there was issues with Anel Ahmedhodzic's too!

Absolutely stinks.

Totally agree, a transfer embargo between Feb and end of June, what is the point. Should be for the next transfer window, also any player they default on is illegible until it is paid followed by a points deduction. Who knows how they would have faired in games without those they defaulted on

If you are going to have rules then need to stick with them and have a punishment with teeth. Also this was an easy one to punish in the season the offence took place.

FFP is harder due to accounting years etc..

Well I think from Memory

Player A is Brewster
Player B Berge
Player E Ahmedhodzic

They wouldn't have gone up without B or E as they were instrumental. I remember an "offside" goal by Berge when they won 1-0 up at SOL the day after we drew (luckily) at home to Stoke. That killed us.
