Who's your money on for the Grand National?

The ground today certainly didn’t look or seem to ride as bad as I expected. Not much more rain forecast either.

Corach Rambler is a boring selection but his 3rd in the GC looks decent especially as Gerry Columbe won well today who finished second.

Beyond that, I’ll have an each way on Roi Mage and Kittys Light.

I can't recall a horse placing in the gold cup and running well in the national in the same year. The gold cup takes a lot out of a horse, which I suspect is the reason. I would avoid corach rambler. It's not that the horse isn't good enough. It's just tough getting them ready.

Roi Mage for me, ran well last year on ground that would have been faster than ideal, also ran fairly wide and with no cover for much of the race, had an interrupted preparation last year apparently no such issues this time around, 2lb lower than last year and is ridden by local lad James Reveley, who has had a stellar career in France and is one of the best jump jockeys around.

Hopefully will be raced a little more patiently this year with a bit more cover, softer ground and improved fitness is massive value at 66/1.
