Liverpool v Atalanta

I am watching the w ham game. My God lueverkuesen have been wasteful. 1 nil up but 26 shots!

Fair play to them, it's going to be a famous win.

It's looking like England's 5th Champions League spot is going out of the window with West Ham losing to a German team too.
I think West ham will beat these at home. It's only 1 nil at the minute.

Good. It’s bad a enough 4 teams from one league in it but 5 is ridiculous

This tie isn’t that important as Leverkusen were always likely to be too strong for West Ham. Arsenal v Bayern will have a much bigger impact on the extra Champions League place. If Arsenal win and Man City too, it all but guarantees an extra place for the Premier League.

It's a German team picking up coefficient points and an English team picking up none, when Germany were already ahead in the rankings.

It's important.

Liverpool have failed to pick up any points here too and are probably going out.

Leverkusen have a good chance of picking up more points in the semi-finals whilst there are at least 2 fewer English clubs.

Aston Villa have kept the chances alive by beating Lille.

The Champions League isn't ranked any higher than the Europa League or Conference League for coefficient points.

I know exactly how it works TC, which is why the outcome of the Arsenal and City games is so important. Not only would the PL pick up 6 points if both win next week, but a further 5 points is guaranteed as one would progress to the final.

In the above scenario Bayern get no more points and Dortmund could go out as well, meaning Leverkusen’s efforts probably won’t be enough even without taking Villa’s potential progress into account.

I don't see Arsenal beating Bayern Munich in Germany, even with them as misfiring as they currently are, especially when it's literally all they have left to play for and Arsenal have a title race distracting them.

Which would leave it with Villa and Man City (possibly) as the only teams still capable of picking up points.

I think Leverkusen, Bayern and Dortmund will all progress.

On current form, you'd expect Leverkusen to win the whole competition too.
